I'd put him top five, but below Blackmore and S.R. Vaughan at the very least

Gangsta's Paradise

I'm sure I've posted this before, but they're pretty good
-
I play bass in a band called 'Inertia' and I also supply any high vocals, kind of like Glenn Hughes job in Mark 3 Deep Purple. The singer doesn't have too much range but he sounds great in his register so I supply any high notes needed
-
Can't decide between Anthrax and Megadeth.
Slayer bores me
-
Acoustic because if you play it and then switch to Electric you just tear up the fretboard
-
Deep Purple
Rainbow
I can heartily reccomend these two.
-
Nice to see the positioning of Machine Head and The Number of the Beast. Ride The Lightning, Master of Puppets and Led Zeppelin II seem a bit high, but it's no ones fault in particular.
Excellent job New Rose, thanks very much
-
Poached one from another band
-
In my eyes Ritchie Blackmore's Child In Time is the greatest guitar solo of all time, so for me it wins here too

slash has died a coupla times and came back, axl has too, duffs fucking oancreas exploded
motley crue was only bad ass during shout at the devil as far as satan, and that was only cuz they were trying to milk the devil thing for all it was worth
primal screams lyrics are what a disgruntled 15 year old would write when a teacher told him to stop talking
guns n roses were real, they never partied just cuz it was kool, guns n roses lived what they wrote and had much more integrity than motley crue, motley crue started out cool but went in the direction of what was cool, drifted away from what they knew and became the shitty band they were/are from 85-now
just cuz motley crue did more coke and worshipped satan doesnt mean thier bad ass, it just means their idiots
show me where it says that
They didn't worship Satan, Nikki just used to draw pentagons or whatever on the fucking walls of his and Lita's flat and wierd stuff would happen. So he changed the name from Shout WITH the Devil to Shout AT the Devil
And since when did Axl die? I've never heard that rubbish before in my life. And Axl used to try get into Nikki Sixx's parties but Nikki wouldn't let him. So if Gn'R partying was their life, they used to try party with the best. FACT. Read The Dirt
In all likeliness there's probably a lot of fabrication in that book.

man I really hate rap, put a 'c' at the beginning of rap and what do you get CRAP!!!!!!!!!!!!!
HA! How original! Haven't heard that one before!
Put a C before Rock and you get Crock.
-
John Wesley Harding and Bringing It All Back Home.
JWH has always been my favourite, but the second favourite changes all the time
-
Oasis put out their second album, Morning Glory, at that time and that was an awesome album. But you're right that the choice of good rock at that time was limited

Added all the Donnington people I could think of

i was watching this show on much more music about the history of metal and it said that zeppelin and black sabbath are the roots of metal and influenced many bands. so yes i would say zeppelin is one of the greatest bands because without them we wouldnt have lots of the music we have now.
Personally I'd say Deep Purple and Sabbath were the foundations of metal

Found a youtube video with Stevie Ray Vaughan and Stevie Wonder

Great song, but I prefer the Stevie Ray Vaughan version
-
Steve Harris made me want to play bass.
Jon Lord and Keith Emerson made me go for keyboards.
Slash made me want to play guitar (not an instrument I play too much anymore).
-
-
hoping for Brian May I guess. Despite the extremely unlikely odds
-
Yup, I listen to the replay of it during the week.
Hasn't he taken over another BBC show now? On BBC Radio 2 I think
-
If you want electric blues then the greatest in my eyes was without a doubt Stevie Ray Vaughan
-
Aqualung seems to be a good starting point then, thanks.
Songs of the Wood is my favourite Jethro Tull album, though it is very different from Aqualung which has already been mentioned a few times
As an afterthought, Saxondale is absolutely hilarious!
In what way is Songs of the Wood different?
(I like how Saxondale's assistant always has such a blank face when Saxondale embarrasses himself trying to be cool or clever. That understated cringy type of comedy is really good...like the Office.)
A large amount less of a rock influence
"See ya" - "Don't say see ya"

The best Who song along with Love Reign O'er Me.
Though I've yet to see a live version that beats Won't Get Fooled Again from The Kids Are Alright
