Saskatoon has a few fuck-ups, but the band was so good at that point that it’s almost charming

Well of course there were fuck ups; its Guns N' Roses!   But musically they were very tight, and it was less of a "show"; no back up singers, excessive costume changes, etc.  A much leaner, cleaner version.

I don’t usually care about a musicians “image” or “style” but his was embarrassingly laughable in gnr. That ridiculous faux top hat that he wore (notice he ONLY wore it in gnr, not sixx am)... was that meant to mock slash? Or to mimic him in some way? That ridiculous intro to WTTJ with the hogan ears? He was also, talent wise, the worst guitarist gnr ever had. When Finck left and was replaced by ashba, it was, to me, the end of nu gnr and any excitement I had about it.

This. He made Guns seem like Poison.  All image and very little creativity.

What did you think?  I thought the energy / crowd was a bit reserved, but I was in the balcony. Wish they played some deep GNR and VR cuts

I love Slash but I find the setlist and some of the SMKC songs to sound generic. Boulevard of Broken Hearts sounded great    though.

    Tour shirts weren’t great.

overall, I thought the Pier 17 show last year was a lot better

It was my first SMKC show as well, and I was pleasantly surprised.  Not a huge fan of SMKC music, but I thought they were excellent live. Wicked Stone with the extended solo I thought was unbelievable - he was right in front of me for most of it.  Anastacia was great, and i agree with someone else upthread that Slash seems to like playing with SMKC much more than with Guns- far more enthusiastic.

Caved in and got floor seats for port chester Wednesday. My first SMKC show

Haha so did I. The only solo Slash i have ever seen was Slash's Blues Ball at Brownies in NYC a million years ago.  Lots of great restaurants in walking distance of the Cap in case you arent familiar with the area.  Any idea who the opener is?

Far out i'm surprised it's more viewed than SCOM, it's a fucking long bastard as well. I'm loving the acoustic version atm....really wish they'd done it properly it would have been their Angie stripped back like that.

Ive always preferred the acoustic version.  I was actually disappointed the first time I heard the UYI version, since I had heard the acoustic version first and hoped it would be more like that... but it ended up growing on me.

Since 0:29 mark, after the drum fill, frank is out of time (or slash?), and Axl is not singing yet. And after every drum fill, the band (or frank) lose the tempo again...

The last 30+ seconds the band is completely in sync, and Axl ends up being a half measure BEHIND... Of course, this is all off of cellphone footage over shitty NYC wifi (on my end), so who really knows.  But as I ( and fellow Masshole Tom 😂) said- if they get this song going, it's going to be killer.
