Great! Now not only Axl is out of time, Frank too!

For all the bashing Frank gets here, it's Axl that is 100% off time on Shadow- WAY too fast in several parts.  However, he sounds phenomenal.  If and when he gets the pace of this song straight, with those vocals, this could easily be a highlight of the set. I've been listening to this song for close to 30 years, and it's always been a favorite. So glad they revisited it.

  2. They should offer a music only version- I don't care about the photos, pins, flags; not that hardcore a collector.  That sample of Shadow at the beginning of the thread sounds like it is only Stevens drums and Izzys guitar line- the rest is buried (until Axls vocals).  My guess is that they were involved in the remixing of some of this old stuff, and this is their way of teasing it.

Certainly seems like an emptying of the vault so to speak- this could be the last hurrah after all....

Because this reunion is a one time thing and they will disband after the tour is over.

Seriously, if they had any plans for the future they would have said so, but they only reunited to play some shows and jump on the revival/nostalgia bandwagon so typical of this era.

Once its over, everything else will be over.

Agree 100%. Maybe some 1 off events, like Coachella. Can't ever see them doing a tour like this again.

  4. If-IF- they can get Izzy & Steven on board, they could still rake it in financially doing one-offs, a handful of festival dates etc.  But I think this lineup has peaked (financially) as a touring unit. Yes, they could do a smaller (I.e. A cheaper price point per ticket) tour and do well, but the REAL last $ windfall will be a show with Izzy and Steven.  If they billed it as a Final show, they could charge $5,000 a ticket and sell out the Rose Bowl.  Then they could all go on their merry ways and cross paths at the Cape Cod Melody tent type venues across the country...

    Sheer speculation on several levels.

Angus didn't become a legend for lack of skills or stage presence.

I never said anything about Angus's stage presence; obviously it is legendary.  I've been going to AC/DC shows since Back In Black and he never fails to deliver an entertaining show. And yes, he is very good at writing catchy, simplistic songs.  However, as a guitarist, he can't hold a candle to Slash.  Maybe you prefer his style- different strokes.

As for speculation on several levels- what part of my post is "speculation"? It's all very well documented.

I'd honestly rather have an axl/dc record than guns just because Angus will make it a straight up rock record. 2 guitars, bass and drums. That's all I want!

Don't you think that is EXACTLY what Slash & Duff would like to do?  That's all they have EVER wanted to do!  It was Axl that wanted to - and did- change the bands musical direction.  If Axl can put out a straight up rock record with Angus, why can't he just do that with Slash and Duff?  They are vastly superior players to Angus and whomever he has in the band right now. A straight up GN'R record would blow away an Axl/DC record....

  7. Thanks for putting this all together Ronin!  Gotta say, I never liked Matt.  My first exposure to him was the "Hard & Heavy" video that came out before UYI, with footage from Rock In Rio.  He came across as a dick - Duff says that they will be playing in front of X amount of fans and Matt interrupts to say "times $20 per ticket" like, it was all about the $$ to him,  In the same video he's being interviewed and some kid asks for his autograph and Matt waves him away, saying "im doing an interview".  He ended up signing for the kid, but it was a dick move.  I'm glad he's not a part of this tour.

  8. So....the next 4-5 months Axl & Guns put together a couple new songs; debut them on the Euro tour. When that ends, release a GH/Blu-ray/ live NITL album with the two new songs in time for XMas 2018 (which is all anyone was HONESTLY expecting- anything more was a dream). Axl then heads to Vancouver in January 2019, put vocals/melodies on a new AC/DC album, tours that for a year.

    sounds plausible....

Wow, that's right, I do remember that. I taped the Guns show with a VCR from my parent's old school 10 foot satellite dish, lol. It was on a long since defunct Canadian channel called MuchMusic. Cool memories.

That's EXACTLY how I got that show! We didn't have cable in my area so we got a dish from Radio Shack- too funny!

As for the Mustaine appearance;  wasn't that at the earlier Ritz show that recently surfaced?

Never heard of this site. Who remembers The Velvet Rope back in the day? That site had quite a few “insiders” during the CD years

LOVED the Velvet Rope! Spent all day on there.  That's the first place I "met" MSL- he used to take a beating there, but never backed down.  a lot of good info came out of that place....

  11. To me, this is the key part of the rumor:

"Apparently all that recent concert money they've recently earned has reminded them they were once that good."

What money has Kiss recently made from touring, that they haven't over the last 20 years?  Metallica had a good tour, but when have they had to remind themselves that they were "once that good"?  They're tours have been steady throughout the years.  The Smashing Pumpkins? Again; what recent $$? And BC  is WAY more of a control freak than Axl (OK, maybe not way more, but...)
i think this is definitely about GN'R; doesn't mean it's true, but I think this is what the author was pointing to....
