The weirdest thing is that Axl clearly has been hitting the gym in the past few years, just check out how his arms have grown.

And he definitely does cardio conditioning or I doubt he could even get through a single show.

But he certainly has some weight that could be cut.

After his ankle operation  in 2016 late 16 and 17 he was starting to slim down and i thought he was going to be going back to his 06 to 2010 look,  but cant answer the weight gain during 2020 shows.

It's also nonsense that "we all love Chris now that he's dead", where were you from like 91 to the day he died? Chris Cornell has always been loved... with the exception of The scream album, and some of the Audioslave songs.

There are definitely artists that die who were under the radar, and once they die people are straight away saying "I always loved them... saw them in a club back in the day, there was 20 people... the music moves me... man!!" but you cannot brush Cornell with that, he was huge and celebrated long before his death!

I would take the stuff he did with audioslave than his solo stuff. Audioslave need props for putting rock back on the map in the early 2000s.I find the lyrics to his solo stuff to listen to as generic as listening to myles kennedy. But each their own. But SG is on a different level.

+1 for Definitely Maybe. It and Nevermind are THE 2 defining rock albums of the 90s. I don't think anything has come close since. The only band since then that has come close (to me) is KALEO, their debut A/B from 2016 is from an artistic standpoint IMO incredible and will be looked at as one of the greatest albums of the 2010s a couple decades down the line. A songwriter like that doesn't come around often, a song like No Good is already a timeless classic. Their next album comes out in a month, it now took them more than 4 years to follow up that debut, go figure.

94 to 96 is when there were alot of good albums being released for grunge, rock and indie genres.

If GNR were focused on releasing new material 95/96 there was alot of competition and the musical landscape was constantly changing. Other bands releasing albums that were popular within their genre in 94,

    Purple - STP

Far beyond driven - Pantera ( was no1 on the Australia charts first week in)

Urge Overkill were big from being in the Pulp Fiction movie released in 94

But Oasis were absolutely huge mid 90s.

I want to say before I make my comment that I appreiciate your sarcasm oh so much.

I feel like a live album from Metallica is far different from a long awaited reunion album from a band like Guns N Roses. I do think GNR should release a new album and frankly the longer they wait the worse it will be for them, but they do need to make sure they can capitalize on the release properly. It would be like if Zeppelin announced a new album with Jason, or some other massive reunion from a long awaited band. Yes I feel like the band has really missed the best oppertunity but they should wait until at least the situation is better. But then again this is the band that is believed to have recorded a full sequel album and a remix which has yet to be released.

Metallicas might be a live album but its giving at least something to the fans during this crazy time and capitising in the recent S&M shows.

Youd think GNR would have done the same with a best of NITL shows?. But nooo............

  5. With the amount if time it took for CD to come out i thought it was would be like the wall of sound mixed with some experimental stuff like the cars first album considering roy thomas baker, and brian may was involved . I was eagerly expecting greatness. Fuck was i disappointed.

You could say axl now looks like brian wilson during brians recluse years.

True, Axl/DC was great, really surprising and Axl gave 100%, but I'm still to this day more amazed by any show from 2010. He was on another level back then, I loved it.

But whether we're talking 2010 or 2016, Axl was in better shape than 2019/2020. I mean really, first show from last year, it made me sad to see him like this. Genuinely sad.

I just don't get it. I even wonder how he dares showing up like that. Disney should hire him to play a character in a Marvel movie and they will put him on their magical diet, like they did to Mark Hamill. That's why I'm certain it's still possible for him to get back on top, it's just a matter of will.

Or he could do a podcast with Joe Rogan and ask him to train him.

I don't accept Axl letting go so much. Maybe it's completely stupid that I still care, but he's one of a kind. I've been more entertained by Axl than any other artist, so it's just painful to see him not caring. The new generation is not up to my standards & mystery & whatever else, it's all so fucking boring.

We need Chinese Democracy 2 (as it was, with Bucket & everyone else from that era), a new album, a 4 hour podcast with Joe Rogan & Axl, and a properly trained Axl who looks ace.

Instead as of now, we got ZERO & fat Axl giving zero fuck. We're definitely in the wrong timeline.

If duff xcan look slim from working out axl has no excuse. You are right, it comes down to will.

Maybe he needs to get the excercycle he used during the illusion times and start riding it again.

Thing is - GNR and MetallicA are my two favourite bands. They hit their zenith at the same time and are at the same size in terms of ‘entity’ which is why they are compared....and why MetallicA set the standard. I can easily see on one side how much material I can get my hands on, and then look at the other hand....empty! 😂

I think that’s why it’s an often trotted out comparison (which I use a fair bit to be honest). Simply put - if GNR had as much live/bonus material and all the avenues that MetallicA does....we’d all be beyond happy.

Yep a band that still love making music and being fan friendly at the same time. They are a class act.

Among CD fans, Catcher in the rye, I just thinks it's an awful song

Among the contrarian fans--One in a million, song where the verses don't have anything to do with the choruses. I like the chorus, dats it. Coulda been a good love song

Among casuals probably either SCOM or November Rain. I love both songs, but SCOM is overplayed, and the production on NR could've been better--see live versions of the song

Among hardcore fans, Don't Damn Me. Still have no idea how anyone can stand that song one bit

In terms of DDM i love slashs s olos and the breakdown after the solo and the ending "smokem if you got em".
