@Tori72 is the next victim to be brainwashed. I'm actually the most interested in her review because she's the most unbiased of us all.

I have a confession.  I may have been brainwashed and I haven't even been to a show since last summer.

One of my friends who saw the band in Imola met Axl.  She recounted the story, and there was even video of them meeting. He was so kind to her and the others who had waited for hours and hours outside of his hotel.

I may or may not have shed a tiny tear while watching the video and reading her message to me. I'm going to chalk it up to me being overwhelmed with joy for a friend.  But think the love/hate relationship I've had with that man (in my mind) for 30 yrs has firmly swung back over into love. I dunno what's happening to me. SOS.

Well, I guess it may come out as agressive the "how hard can it be" part but yeah, it didn't feel to me like you were demanding anything. I guess it's just a misunderstanding.

I agree. I took it as you wishing...hoping...not demanding. Writing thoughts and feelings is always hard bc ppl don't get to see your expression and hear your tone.

As for me, no, I don't think he owes us anything - but yes, it sure would be nice to have more music.  In the meantime, I'm going to sit here and be depressed about the Predators losing the Stanley Cup just now.

    Try from here:

Here... but I wouldn't bother much with that one. There's already at least one Izzy fan making long posts, defending Izzy. And if somebody wants to think like that - then feel free to do so.  Like I give a flying fuck.

Thx @Fourteenbeers for posting the link to the thread.  I couldn't resist.  I had to say something, too. :D  I've said before, but I'll say it again:  Izzy fans are the best fans.

I know everyone has different tastes. Izzy's solo career has shown me....in my opinion....that he brings not that much to the table in the studio. As far as a touring member he is so obscure and boring that some people think Fortus is Izzy. If people here think he is a major component to GNR I respect their wrong opinion.

Those people who think Fortus is Izzy are the same people behind me at the show who asked what I thought the band would open with.  When I told them "It's So Easy" had typically been the opener, they looked at me, blankly, and said "what's that?"

    What-Say-what-DAFUQ-WTF-What-the-fuck-GI

Personally, like @Darkenchantress said, I'm not interested in new music without Izzy.  I'm not saying they aren't important or good songs, but I couldn't get into an album full of nothing but November Rains, Estrangeds, and Civil Wars ... which is what we'd get, IMO.

Well this was a good night. Watched the Imola gig's live stream with couple of pals, I hope the neighbors appreciated our off key singing.

@Tori72 did you get the stream working or not??

And also some know-it -all (in D & N forum) told me that Izzy is  insignificant as a songwriter and boring on stage. I'm So glad that is clear now.

Omg totally.  He didn't write any of those hit songs on Appetite.  Or on the UYIs.  And obviously GNR made their best album ever - Chinese Democracy - without him.

    Idiot. :fuckyou:

He posted a Monthy Python? That's such a dad joke, it's getting more and more adorable. I just can't :rofl-lol::rofl-lol::rofl-lol:

And that was on Facebook? Or Twitter? What did he say?

Speaking of Izzy and dad jokes, my husband always says "Why are you so obsessed with Izzy Stradlin?  He looks like a dad I'd see in Kroger." (Kroger is a grocery store here).

Phhhhhhhhhht. Please. :max: I WISH I saw dads in the grocery store who looked like that.  I'd be there every damn day.

I must say I find Izzy's use of Twitter absolutely adorable. I cannot decide if he is lost as fuck around new tech or he is a master at trolling us all. I love him either way.

It's so charming and sweet.  I love the spaces he leaves before punctuation.  Like happy !  healthy !  cheers !

Also, I can't believe I spend my time thinking about Izzy Stradlin's use of punctuation.  But I doooooooo bc I love him!  Aaaaaaargh!  SOS!

Thank you guys but that GNR timeline is the only thing that made me want to make the site. I figured since certain people are trying to rewrite Izzy's history, it's probably a good idea to get all of Izzy's info back online and easier to find in one place. I don't really want my name front and center on it because I don't want to upset Izzy again. I'm not sure how he feels about me after that whole song incident and I'm sure I'm the last person he would want running a fan page. :shrugs:

Plus, at the end of the day the site was a group effort. So no need to credit me and please don't bother Izzy to much with it.

(just fyi, today's my Bday so I'll probably be MIA the rest of the day, sorry!)

    Happy Birthday, beautiful!!!!!!

So I had already credited you before I saw this.  Hope that's ok.  I didn't tag Izzy.  I hate tagging Izzy.  It freaks me out.

Have an amazing day, love!

Yeah, poor Izzy. Must have been painful to alienate from your band and friends like that. Where was the clip posted? I'd like to see it.

It was several pages back I think?  Did I make this up?  I swear I saw it.  Will have to look later unless someone knows where it is and can help Tori.

I think you guys might be reading way too much into a glance at Duff. :P:smiley-confused2:

Ummmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm....I NEVER read into ANYTHING Izzy Stradlin or Guns N' Roses related.  You obviously have me confused with someone else.

 Same here. I love to see him moving and shaking. Something touches my heart when I see him like that, I don't know what it is. He is really into the music, following his own rhythm that he's bringing into the song. It's lovely to see.

Comparing his whole demeanor and posture to 1990 and beyond you can really tell how alienated he must have felt. Then I only see him in the background, hardly moving. Or is it the camera that is solely concentrating on Axl and Slash?

I think it's alienation.  Remember the clip someone posted last week of them playing "Used to Love Her" post him getting sober?  And he looks over at Duff, almost like he's trying to get some of the old "spark" back...and nuthin'.

I love how I'm just like "oh I know exactly how he was feeling".  HA!  I'm an idiot and must return to real life.

Sorry, Izzy ---  what can I say?  You just drive us crazy.

I need to catch up with this thread asap cause I'm lost as fuck, but in the meantime, I'm just gonna leave this here...

I'm evil and i know it  i got the inspiration from the show actually. The first time they showed Fortus on the screens, the girl i was with said: "Why on earth people say he looks like Izzy??" And i was like: "I know right? Is like when you order something online and then get another completely different thing". So we ended up calling Fortus "Izzy from Aliexpress".

P.S. I wanna make clear that I don't hate Richard Lortus in any way, shape or form.

I'm out of likes but I'm about to pee myself just like Slash used to do.

Oh holy Jesus.  This is hilarious.

  12. Y'all, I think I've hit my limit and can say that - at this point - I honestly do not fucking care if he ever gets back on stage with any of those guys. Is that wrong?!  :nervous: I don't mean to sound like an asshole and I certainly understand why ppl do want him back with GNR, so I'm not discounting those feelings at all.  Believe me, I COMPLETELY understand.  But from the outside looking in, he has more integrity and more class than any of them.  And I don't even want him on the same stage as the Pokémon.  This just isn't a band that I can see Izzy wanting to be a part of.

I loved the NITL show I saw, I am so glad I went, and I don't have any regrets. Truly amazing.  But right now I would just like some more music from Izzy.  And a solo tour.  A solo tour would be nice.
