the bird wasn't clear.  the afd5 playing either the whiskey/roxy/troubadour would be wild… but the bird also thought that either the forum/staples/dodgers might be realistic as well because they could certainly sell them out for a night or two.

but who knows with these fucking birds.  you can't depend on them.  not anymore.

It would be nice if they do more than one show.

so, a little bird just came to my window and said:

warm up/anniversary show(s) in LA that will "feature" izzy and steven.  the bird didn't believe axl will ever tour with the afd5.  now, next year, ever.  unless the afd anniversary shows awaken something in him, like the spirit enters his body at rehearsal or during a show and he realizes how special the afd5 were together.  the bird wasn't sure if it would just be the afd5 for a couple songs or if they'd play appetite complete start to finish.

my ex liked birds.  but that's all over now.

What kind of venues are they looking to do these warm shows at? Small clubs like the troubadour show or something bigger?

How many people actually listen to the radio anymore though? With pandora, apple music and spotify I doubt this random radio station is going to get many listeners that are interested in the announcement.

KLOS is one of the biggest radio stations in the LA area, so I'm sure they have a big audience. People listen to it all the time driving to work or whenever, plus whatever the announcement is the station will probably tweet about it also.

I'm sure that it will be something that GnR announces officially, but all of the radio stations and music press and everyone will share it also. It's not something exclusive to KLOS only. And if it's more shows then the station would probably follow up the announcement with a ticket giveaway.

Unless they do it at St. Louis I don't think logistically they'd be able to pull that off. They're playing in Israel July 15th then the St Louis show is the 27th. So unless they could get the stage and all that crap back to LA during that break I don't think anything will happen then. :shrugs:

They have more than one stage though. While one is being used for the current show there's another one being set up at the next venue. Plus there's always the chance that if they did do an AFD5 show it might be at a small club like the Whisky or the Troubadour. If they do that I hope they do a residency sort of thing.

So hypothetically if it's a AFD5 show, do you guys think it will be next week or after this next tour leg? Because if it's next week and a one time thing out of the blue that's pretty shitty for all the fans who will once again miss out like they did at the Troubadour.

If it's after the next tour leg, wont that hurt their ticket sales? I would think most fans will want to hold out for the AFD5 show and skip all these upcoming shows with Fortus & Frank...

Hopefully later in July around the AFD anniversary. It would be really sudden to do it next week.

Again, I've ben consistently saying that this is still Axl's band at the end of the day, Slash and Duff aren't completely as equal. If they were, wouldn't Axl, Slash, and Duff have an equal vote on who plays guitar? Or even, who plays drums? I doubt they even voted on Melissa Reese or Chris Pitman... Idk, I'm sure someone is still massively offensive over me taking this position but, I just find it hard to believe that Slash and Duff have an equal say. If they did, I doubt they would have voted Frank in as the drummer (Richard's comments back that up), hell, I honestly don't think they would have voted in Fortus as a member over Izzy. I truly believe there's things that Slash and Duff would like to do differently but, why speak up to Axl and risk the tour ending tomorrow?! The important thing is getting paid $$$$

I think you're right. Duff and Slash don't have the same kind of decision making power that Axl does.

Guns N' Roses had become an absolute joke, Slash's return turned them into one of the biggest bands in the world again and they're playing huge stadiums all over the world like they used to do. I can't see how Slash fans could have their ego hurt. Regardless of the things he's done/accepted that I disagree with, I couldn't be prouder. He saved GNR.

Slash wasn't the one who wanted to bury Appetite and said "not in this lifetime", was he? These days seem to be way harder for those who claimed Slash was mediocre, GNR was gonna be better without him and Robin Finck was gonna be bigger than him in GNR. Gotta admit it was a close call, though :rofl-lol:

    I completely agree.

Some of that stuff looks cool but I refuse to buy in for two reasons. 1) I just cannot give them even one more penny for Nightrain 2) Given their track record for shipping, who knows when you'll get any or all of that stuff.

That's understandable. I didn't have any shipping problems last year though.

I always enjoy seeing photos and video of Slash's rig.

My theory is this reunion hasn't really started yet. If they blow all the interviews and promo now they won't be able to do it for the record, which is what the record might be about in part. So there will be this media explosion when they have the goods.

Slash did say that there's more to come. I'm sure this whole thing will be more long term than what we can see right now.
