  1. I may be going to see a local band on Tuesday.

A friend of mine can get free box seats to any shows in Wembley. So, I'm thinking it'd be a good idea to go on either the 6th or 7th June to see the Foo Fighters.

  2. Even if you've never heard of her, I feel inclined to make others aware of her.

This girl has a beautiful, effortless voice--she's been gigging since she was 16. She wasn't allowed entry into one of her own gigs because she was underage (17) so busked outside the venue instead--what a trooper!

I love this live performance, it's called "New Romantic"

  3. Ooohh anyone gonna see 'Jumper'? It comes out February 14th. It stars Hayden whats-his-face from Star Wars and is about this guy (Hayden) who can jump around out of time. So, for example, in the trailer, this woman says to him when he's leaving the house "Don't forget to take your umbrella when you go to work as it's raining outside" He just looks back and kind of smirks, walks out the door then--bam--he walks into work. he can go to any place he wants. In the film, a group of people catch on to what he's doing and hunt him down. I think Samuel L Jackson is also in it.

  4. Just got back from seeing 'Alien Vs Predator: Requiem'. It was alright, I was on Predators side. It was really loud though..a lot of explosions--or, that could've just been because it was a staff screening so they turn the volume up.

    I'm seeing Sweeney Todd tomorrow!

  5. For the first time in their 18-year career, THE BLACK CROWES will perform an album of theirs in its entirety. On a special run of "One Night Only" shows beginning March 2 and wrapping March 20, fans will experience "Warpaint" — the group's first album of all new studio material in seven years, due out March 4 — in its entirety onstage, after which the band will perform songs from their catalog and selected surprises.

A listing of these seven one-time-only tour dates is below, with the on-sale info. In the midst of this trek, the band will headline Stubbs March 15 at SXSW in Austin.

THE BLACK CROWES launch their overseas tour March 24 when they headline the East Coast Blues & Roots Festival in Australia. They'll continue their Down Under trek — their first since 1991 — through April 5, and conclude with exclusive performances in London, UK at Brixton Academy April 9 and The Amsterdam Music Hall April 11. A major market multiple night U.S. tour will begin in May, with cities and venues to be announced in the near future.

"Warpaint" marks the recording debut of two new band members — second guitarist Luther Dickerson, formerly of NORTH MISSISSIPPI ALLSTARS, and keyboardist Adam MacDougall — who join Chris and Rich and drummer Steve Gorman and bassist Sven Pipien. The album — which is being independently released on the band's own newly-formed Silver Arrow Records, distributed through Megaforce/Sony Red BMG — builds compellingly on the band's trademark adventurous brew of rock, blues, country, soul and gospel.

Produced and mixed by Paul Stacey at Allaire Studios, Woodstock, NY, the album features 11 songs, all of which were written by Chris and Rich Robinson, except "God's Got It" by the Reverend Charlie Jackson. "Goodbye Daughters of the Revolution" is set as the album's first single and video; the song will arrive at radio on Monday, January 7.

Hopefully I'll get tickets to the Brixton gig. Only 1 London date!! It'll sell out fast.

  6. I bought their album on a whim and I like some of their stuff. Seen 'em live a few times and partied with them as well. Great guys--funny too. I love Andrew's hair

  7. I've cried to Wild Horses.

    You and I both.

    I've also blubbed to:

"Bridge Over Troubled Water" ~ Simon and Garfunkel.

    "Angie" ~ The Rolling Stones

And, for some unknown reason, I wept to Chris Whitley's version of "Spanish Harlem Incident". I've never known why

  8. A poster on another forum I frequent said that her friends friend had been hired to do security for a Led Zep tour. This poster doesn't bullshit.

So a friend of a friend on a random internet forum was a security guard during the gig?

Wow, you were practically there.. NICE!

Erm...no. Maybe you should re-read my post.

  9. Some guy won 2 tickets for £6.15 ($12) on Planet Rock's competition.

    what??...no fucking way!!

    luckiest bastard on the planet!

No kidding--there was this competition on the radio to win tickets--I entered over 500 times. In the end, this woman got 2 tickets for £2.69. Also, I entered another competition to win tickets and bid 91p (it was a reverse auction) and I got a text back saying that my bid was unique (no one else had bidded that much--which is the idea of a reverse auction) but not low enough. So, someone could have got 2 tickets for under 91p

edit: So, my brother's just told me that a friend of his got to hang backstage 'cos her dad has something to do with the venue..she's 15 and knows shit about Zep. AND she met them :fuckyou:

  10. Hmm. 'Favourite' means, for me, vocalists I could listen to all day without going mad. They'd be, in no particular order:

    Paul Rodgers

    Jeff Buckley

    Robert Plant

.....I think that's it. Their voices are so smooth.

  11. I know the members of a band called the Jim Jones Revue, so, I saw them at the Camden Roundhouse last week I think it was.

Before that, Incubus--it was sometime this month and on a Satuday. My friend paid for me--she owed me money and wanted to go to see them but didn't have anyone to go with--so I didn't mind going. I only know 'Aqueous Transmission' though. But it was a good show.
