  1. For the record, it absolutely makes sense its a secret. Its a late night show. No one's watching anyway. Its all about getting online views. Trust me, it goes viral, and thats all people need to know. They get to see the video in the article they read the next morning. No need to hype it.

THAT seems plausible, at least. I dont know if youtube is the most important part of the business today, but it doesnt seem far-fetched.

  2. Errrr .. that makes NO sense at all. A "surprise" has NO advantages for Kimmel. Why the hell should the biggest comeback in rock history aka the biggest viewer magnet be kept secret instead of promoting the shit out of it and get top viewers numbers?

So does that mean you aren't going to watch it, or somehow, you will anyway? It seems it's pretty clear everyone will have their eyes open.

Of course I'll watch, because I HOPE I am wrong. But that doesn't change the fact that I FEAR that I'm right. :(

  3. Im just afraid Axl will blow it like every other televised or streamed show in the last 15 years.

That is actually what I'm afraid of for the whole project. I mean it's still Axl. I think it's safe to assume that he always BELIEVED what he said ("multiple albums", "soon", etc), but sooo many things never happened or were delayed for years and years. Plus in the last years he often didn't even seem to TRY to perform on his best level.

So yeah, the whole thing is rolling now, but that doesn't mean that it has to keep on rolling. I see potential disasters all along the way, from another dramatic fallout to the more mundane lack of the magic spark. I'm sad that I'm looking at it that way, but the last 20 years taught me as much. :(

  4. "Duff already got a taste of 2010 Axl. Just imagine if Axl will come back like this, only with Slash back in Guns as well. It will be glorious."

As long tells him a thing ot two about style, fitness and clothes ...

Dear God, I would never have imagained such a sentence even to be POSSIBLE in the early nineties

  5. Yes but why hasn't anyone of them denied the rumours? A-n-y-o-n-e. Axl? Slash? Duff? Why not put am official post on twitter, fb or wherever? Simple statement? Why? Why? Why? If there is no reunion and they're still keeping quiet they:

    1. Most likely are not aware of how spread the latest rumours are (media) - which is very unlikely unless they all live in caves.

    2. They just don't care about the fans. Simple as that. Do we really want to believe this? That they don't give a shit? How likely is it?

    Unless..there is a reunion in the works..to be announced..soon..very soon™

Or 3: They all are professional musicians and business men that get buzz for free. Trending google for free? No reason to spoil that. Imagine someone reading about the reunion and that way being reminded of Guns N' Roses after 20 years or so. Next thing he may think is "I wonder what Slash is up to these days ..." and voilá.

  6. How fun and a big kick in the face would it be when the GN'R reunion comes with Tracii Guns,Ole Beich and Rob Gardner. that would lead to some reactions to say the least

That would freak people out. I'm pretty sure Ole is dead.

"Beich died on October 16, 1991, drowning in Sankt Jørgens Lake in the center of Copenhagen. Not long before, on August 19, Guns N' Roses had performed in the city. His family believe that he became depressed after leaving Guns N' Roses in 1985 and was heavily abusing drugs before returning to Denmark in 1988. Heroin, and a blood alcohol content of .148, are thought to have contributed to his drowning, but his family still believes it was a suicide.

Ole Beich lies buried in Esbjerg next to his father Aksel, who died in 1995."

    That is pretty depressing. :(

  7. He is probably better technically, and at least more consistent, but my problem is that I don't think anything he has written these last years is memorable. And to me that is the most important thing. I really don't care about technicality, only musicality.

This. Of all the songs from the last decade, for me "Anastacia" is the only one that is really memorable. So yes, the video is impressive and is exactly what I'd like to see him do with Axl, but 99% of the stuff he did is far more mundane and even imagining Axl singing over it doesn't make it that much better.

But then again the magic DOES seem to lie in the chemistry, doesn't it? Maybe the three-headed AxlSlashDuff god will be able to pour out songs on the level of Anastacia on a daily basis. What do I know,

  8. Yeah, Bild is a sensacionalist piece of shit. They went as far as publishing F-1 driver Schumacher was dead iirc.

don't spread lies, dude. your info is incorrect with regard to your 2nd sentence.

Exactly. 3 pages and I have yet to see any proof its a terrible source.

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bild#Criticism: "t is argued Bild's thirst for sensationalism results in the terrorizing of prominent celebrities and stories are frequently based on the most dubious evidence. The journalistic standards of Bild, or the lack thereof, are the subject of frequent criticism by German intellectuals and media observers."

  9. Fool me once, shame on me. Fool me 1,233,654 times, shame on Bild. Believing a newspaper that is well know for making stuff up anything just because they say they HAVE sources doesn't seem rational to me. It makes me rather suspicious that a "newspaper" even has to stress THAT they have sources - as opposed to their usual practice?

  10. http://ultimateclassicrock.com/guns-n-roses-reunion-rumors-quashed/

"Unfortunately, it sounds like that was just wishful thinking — at least according to Soundwave promoter A.J. Maddah, who tells Music Feeds that as fun as it’s been for him to indulge in the fantasy of hosting one of rock’s most long hoped-for reunions, he has to point out the obvious: Getting those guys back together would take a long time and a lot of lawyers."

  11. I'm wondering if I'm the only one who fears that a reunited GNR maybe won't deliver. And I mean this purely musically, I'm not talking about social problems.

I liked Slash's stuff, I liked Izzy's and Duff's music, I liked VR - but nothing really fascinated me like old GN'R. Chinese Democracy was nearer to that standard for me personally, but didn't reach it either.

But now everybody is talking about the "chemistry" and the "magic" when the guys get together again, but this chemistry was last tested TWENTYFIVE years before.

Am I the only one who fears that a reunion might not live up to our hopes and expectations?

  12. He obviously hates the fact that people want GNR news and not Bumblefoot news.

I really do get a different vibe. I honestly think he hates the fact that he is gagged by contracts and forbidden to talk about the GNR time. He is very outreaching and talkative, always was, also when he was in GNR. He liked to interact, discuss, chat, And while I'm pretty sure he would point out without hesitation lots of bad stuff of this time, he also would praise for example the friendship among the musicians, their creativity and stuff like that,

By no means would he be only positive, but that's okay with him, I guess. Not okay is not being allowed to talk at all.

  13. There are very few examples of successful vocalist replacements.... Van Halen did it, Alice in Chains did it, but most bands can't pull it off.

Sabbath (several times), Judas Priest, Genesis, Iron Maiden (twice), AC/DC, Rainbow, Pink Floyd ...

Dio was the only guy Sabbath managed to "pull it off" with though, Gillan, Hughes, Ray Gillen and Tony Martin aren't what I would call successful replacements (even if they were good)

Ripper Owens and Blaze didn't work out

True, the degree of success varies significantly in this list, though I'd like to point out that even the less successful replacements never lead to the collapse or total commercial death of any of the examples.

But yeah, your points are valid - but even corrected that way, it's still an impressive list:

Sabbath, Genesis, Iron Maiden, AC/DC, Rainbow, Pink Floyd
