  2. There is NO streaming! SKY Live is just a sponsor of the show...but still, I asked them.

"The broadcasting of the concerts depends on the artists, not all of them authorize that. Besides, it's a high cost, even if all authorized, we wouldn't be able to broadcast all the shows we sponsor."

  3. Ok, I just woke up and I'm not going to write a whole review of every aspect of the concert, just a few topics.

Axl seemed in a little bit slimmer, his voice was good (not better than 2010, of course) but I really enjoyed what I heard, and he was in a great mood...smiling and joking around all the time!

About the setlist: I only realized they didn't play Rocket only when me and my buddies were going to get the car on the parking lot. It made NO difference on the show for me. And they played CATCHER! I lost my shit on that one...

Before Patience DJ got in front of me (I was on the front row, a little bit to the right) with a bottle of jagermeister and gave it to the security guy for him to pass it around the audience. I drank a shot of it (first time) and I can't believe I wasted so many years of my life without drinking this amazing thing...

Axl saw my friend's "W. Axl Rose" tattoo on her left arm and pointed at her, smiling.

All I know is that I had a blast! The only thing I don't like at all is the late start. The band started the show 1h45 late. This way you are tired as fuck when the concert starts...but well...

    I recorded two videos yesterday.

  4. Anyone know how big the venue is? Or how ticket sales are going? Haven't seen any sell-outs yet...

Manets says it's sold out. Quick search on the internet showed a capacity of 18,000, but I don't know if that's correct.

They put 13.500 tickets for sale (at least it's what it says on the ticket).

There are still tickets available for Paradise Premier and chairs levels 1 and 3. GA is sold out (at least it's what it says on Ingresso Rápido website: http://www.ingressorapido.com.br/GunsNRoses/Evento.aspx?ID=32022)

I was just there at the Hotel, arrived home a couple of hours ago. Met Fortus, DJ, Bumblefoot and Frank (Nicest dude EVER!)

How do you guys always know where they stay?

I follow Jennifer Thal on Instagram, yesterday she posted a picture of Ron at the beach... I live in Rio and go to that beach a lot, so I was able to recognize the place. =P

  6. From what I understand, this is how concerts were way back in the 60s & 70s a lot of the time (decades some would argue were the "golden era" of rock music): drawn out with various jam sessions and solo spots, maximizing the spirit of their rock & roll in an attempt to make it an experience and become one with the audience. Think about it: on a small level, don't you think you "connect" with a band way more that spends a long time on stage with rants, jokes, various conversation and instrument playing + all their songs, rather than your standard 1hr & 30/45 min set and then "Thank you!! Goodnight!" where the bands rush through songs and have virtually no communication with the audience other than the obligatory, "So how ya feelin tonight Chicago!!!!?" I mean, maybe it's how things are now; people with lower attention spans due to a changing of the times/technology, all that.

I could not have said it any better!

I miss this kind of interaction when I go see a concert. Once I played to some friends a concert by Janis Joplin and The Big Brother Holding Company, and they were bitching because the band was jamming between and during songs. They just wanted to hear Janis. Ok, I get that, Janis was amazing, but so was watching those musicians losing their shit on stage!

It's the same thing with GNR, people just want to hear Axl. If it were up to them, I believe, Axl would go on stage by himself singing over backing tracks and they wouldn't mind at all. I, on the other hand, enjoy the solos very much while I'm on the crowd, specially 4tus and BBf's spots. I love the jams they do because they are FUN and that is why I'm there for: to have fun!

PS: I just remember the time I saw Queen + Paul Rodgers and people were complaining because Roger Taylor was performing a "drum solo" as his drums set was being put together in front of the stage, as a preparation for "I'm in Love With My Car". It was AMAZING and people were just like "Pff...why couldn't they have prepared the drums backstage and brought it up front to save time?". I think you miss a lot of great stuff on concerts while you waste your time thinking how being there is a waste of time. I know, it's weird. But it's a weird generation we have today...

  7. In all honesty, I'm always a little more excited after a hiatus to see if Axl has changed his look at all. Bash all you want, but I wouldn't be surprised if the dude looks different than he did last year. Sure, no big change from 2011 to 2012 for Rio, but hell in 2001 to 2001 he even changed his look a bit, then over the next few years he got in great shape and looked completely different in 2006. Then, '07 to '09, again - completely different. Subtle changes over the last few years then too.

That said, I'm skeptical, but hopeful.

As far as the looks, I just hope he stops hiding himself behind those shades and hats and jackets as much as he's been recently. I like his casual look better.

But I do hope he is in a better shape, though! It helps improving everything: the stage presence, the voice, his mood...

  8. hahaha could be Joel! But I don't think so... Does Joel walks around on his life dressed as Axl too? I mean, I know he has the tattoos, and the hair - and the moustache, damned! But on his everyday stuff does he acts like Axl?

He has the tattoos and the mustache, but the hair is a wig nowadays!

Or maybe the guys from 89fm drank the same water the anchors from ESPN's Sportscenter drink before their broadcast! hahahaha

  9. I doubted the story, but posted it on Perfect Crime's facebook page either way (I'm one of the adms there), to check if anybody else heard it as well.

The whole thing sounded...weird...to me. I mean, why the hell would Axl be in São Paulo around this time? But Erick, the guy who heard it on the radio, is a stand up guy who wouldn't make this up, I think it's important to make this clear, though.

Now why would the guys from 89fm make this up? Are they losing audience to Kiss FM or something and need publicity?

Edit: my exact first thought was "Maybe the guy saw Joel, from The Best GNR Cover and thought he was Axl"
