  1. Here's a little insight for you -- a rock band has to do certain things in order to be prepared to hit the stage. It's a lot like a sports team warming up before hitting the field. Axl has to do his vocal warm ups or else he will blow his voice out. Guitarist Robin Finck has to do yoga-type stretching or else he's going to pull or tear a muscle again. Some of the band members need chiropractic adjustments or massage therapy. Others need to warm up on their instruments. The list is endless and every night something unexpected always occurs. There's a lot more to it than showing up, grabbing an instrument, and walking onstage. No one is interested in wasting your time or keeping you waiting, but the band goes on when it is 100 percent ready to go on and give it all that they have for that evening and not one minute before. The show starts when the band hits the stage and ends when the final encore is over.

Del cant compare this. A sports team hitting the field on time. They are not 1 or 2 hours late...

Think about it. If FC Barcelona was 2 hours late for Champions League Final? They would lose the game...

  2. A friend of mine in Edmonton told me HMV had a sign in the store saying Nov 14 was the date. I have no idea if that's true, and he hasn't been able to get me a picture, but he said people in the store said it would be "in store" on the 14th.

Take it for what it's worth, I have no idea if that's true or not.

    i put up that sign

im a supervisor of that store

anyway it was on our intranet as being november 14th and on our upcoming new release bulletin for that day but i knew something was off when it came time to order new releases for that day and chinese democracy wasnt on the list

maybe universal is trying to keep a gagg on everything but now according to our new release sheet its been pushed back to dec 19th

You cant be serious?? 19 dec?? :xmassrudolph:

  3. Since the tour starts in less than a week, it is to late for a Single or video to be released before the tour. Let alone an album. :book:

I guess we have another pintless Chinese Democracy tour?

    LG

Still 9 days... They could easily drop a new single by thursday or friday. Or maybe when the tour starts the 24 oct... :shades:

Axl Rose: Album delay is for the fans.

    By Jada Yuan

Axl Rose started out screeching about being “just an urchin livin’ under the street,” but in the thirteen years he’s been working on the oft-delayed album Chinese Democracy (at a price that’s exceeded $13 million), he’s had time to reflect on heavy-metal posturing. “We thought we were so badass,” he said in the greenroom at the VMAs. “Then N.W.A. came out rapping about this world where you walk out of your house and you get shot. It was just so clear what stupid little white-boy poseurs we were. It was like, ‘All right, we can give up the act.’ If you’re talking about which lifestyle is more hard-core, the one where you get shot always wins.” So what’s the holdup with Chinese Democracy, Axl? “It’s not about being a control freak. It’s about being maybe smart enough to go, ‘No, that’s a bad idea.’ That’s all it’s about—keeping the ability to at least have a shot as opposed to something that’s just an obvious disaster. I want to make a good record. I don’t want to throw a brick. This cannot be Shaq at the free-throw line.” Rose promises the album will be released by the end of the year.

  6. Axl himself said that the tour starts October 24th. Does that mean that the scheduled dates are warm up dates? Warming up to what? The European tour was a huge success so I don't see a need for it.

While I'm not shouting conspiracy theory or anything like that, something is amiss here. Nine shows, a break and then a tour... I'd say Axl has something big planned. Is it a coincidence that the 24th is a Tuesday? Oh god, I'm sounding like everyone else. Please kill me :)

First of all, i think its 10 shows....!?

There is a 3 weeks break. Maybe they will do some promotion for a new single/video in that period...?

  7. Still no sign of the mythical poster? Damnit, I'm gonna have to sit through the cheesy-ass VMA's on the slight chance GN'R might show.

Maybe Axl will be there.... I think it is very likely... :shades:

  8. It defintely aint comin out in September, ya heard it from me. Frozen Inferno.

    No it wont!!!

It wll be out by late fall. Axl said that in the Eddie Trunk show. So it will definately not be out before that.

Maybe a single will be released in september...

  9. Damn I hope it will be a kickass concert. I bought the ticket for the Festival the day it was announced they were coming.

A lot of ppl have said to me that its crazy to use 1350 DK (¨ 200 $) just to see them...

I say its worth every penny when you have been waiting for this for over 10 years.

I'll try to get pic and video's with phone, but I dont promise anything....

    Rock on AXL rock3

    Im going too...

I will be there today and sunday...

Guns N' Roses Storm New York

Monday May 22, 11:30 am ET

Sold Out Shows, Guest Stars & Fanatic Audiences

    Next Up - European Tour

    NEW YORK--(BUSINESS WIRE)--May 22, 2006--They're back!!!

Guns N' Roses - whose shows at New York's Hammerstein Ballroom sold out in less than 3 minutes - have reclaimed the throne that was always theirs. From stellar reviews to audience adulation, Guns N' Roses' New York shows proved that they are back in a big way.

Concert goers weren't let down as Axl Rose and band mates Tommy Stinson (bass), Richard Fortus (guitar), Robin Finck (guitar), Chris Pitman (keyboard), Dizzy Reed (keyboard) and new guitarist Ron "Bumblefoot" Thall (who has only been in the band for two weeks!) burned through Guns N' Roses classics such as "Welcome to the Jungle," "Paradise City," "My Michelle," "Mr. Brownstone," "November Rain" and "Sweet Child O' Mine." The final show at Hammerstein found the band joined by one time Guns' guitarist Izzy Stradlin on "Think About You," "Patience" and "Night Train," which also included an enthusiastic Kid Rock coming onstage to join the band.

Over the four nights, audiences were also treated to nearly half of the band's upcoming new album, Chinese Democracy, with live performances of "Chinese Democracy," "Better," "There was a Time," "Madagascar," "IRS" and "The Blues."

The four shows, which took place on May 12, 14, 15 & 17th, were the talk of New York City, with fans and famous faces such as Matthew Perry, Mickey Rourke, Drea De Matteo, Lenny Kravitz, Jamie Lynn Sigler, Fred Durst, Sebastian Bach, Ethan Hawke, Jay Z, Jimmy Fallon, Maxwell and Sean Penn to name a few, paying homage to one of the greatest bands in Rock n' Roll. Each night was a celebration on stage, which would then continue off stage with parties at Sixes and Eights, Bungalow 8, Butter, G Spa, The Marquee Lounge and The SoHo House.

The band ended their New York jaunt with a surprise acoustic performance at The Plumm for actress Rosario Dawson's birthday party. The band's scorching performance, which left the way beyond capacity crowd screaming for more and gasping for air well into the wee hours of the morning, had birthday girl Dawson commenting of Rose: "They've never played all acoustic, this is history in the making, how much does this man rock?!"

The N.Y. concerts were warm up shows for the European leg of the band's forthcoming tour, which starts May 25th in Madrid at Juan Carlos Arena.

For the upcoming tour, Guns N' Roses are playing a mixture of headline Festival appearances including Rock In Rio in Portugal, Download at the UK's famed Castle Donington, Rock Am Ring in Germany, Gods Of Metal in Italy, Novarock in Austria, Graspop in Belgium, Roskilde in Denmark, A Heavy Day In The Park in Holland as well as their own headlining indoor shows in Madrid, Budapest, Prague, Warsaw, Paris, Zurich, Stockholm, Oslo and Helsinki, most of which have been instant sellouts.

But nothing beats the home turf of the US or New York City. W. Axl Rose commented, "We've just finished our 4 shows in New York and had an amazing time. New York has always been special and it feels great to be doing this again particularly in front of so many friends. I am very excited about Europe and getting back over here in September."
