people seem to think that the 1998-2000 (Sean Beavan) version of CD was much more industrial and much more electronica sounding...Where do we have evidence of this? in Axl's interview with RS in 2000 they mention TWAT, The Blues, Chinese D, and Catcher in the Rye and none of those are really industrial or electronica...

CD the song is totally industrial sounding. Also Axl said in some interview the first album (meaning CD) was going to be half industrial and half classic gnr sounding to ease fans into the new direction. It wasn't going to be under the follow up until Axl went full on industrial, but that never happened.

I'd be curious to see what the others songs sounded like at this point in time. This one sounds quite incomplete.

All it needs to the Finck guitar licks added into the song and it would be the best version as far as I am concerned.

If there is a studio version of that, that sounds like this  version that would be the ideal version.  I still hate the Axl vocal, really wish he redid them.

I'd rather them just cut out the Fortus solos and let Slash get after it like he used to back in the day..

KOHD the current live version is so bloated with the 8 solos in the middle.  They need to go back to the 90s version with the one slash solo in the middle.  KOHD is one of the most boring things on the set list.  Its stupid the band is doing like a 12 minute version of it, that is assinine They need to go back to a 6-8 minute version and add in another UYI song like the garden, pretty tied up or perfect crime.

I agree- it’s been said by everyone by Finck was truly Axl’s Randy’s Rhodes and I believe Axl could’ve had a second coming in his music career if he utilized him properly. I just don’t get how a man who had Buckethead, Finck and Brain all on the same team could let that go to waste. At least we do have the song Better (which was a Finck song) which to an extent made an impact on Guns history, still in the set list and is one of the most loved Chinese song.

The sad thing is if Axl released CD in 2002 then the follow up in 2004 , then the 3rd in 2006, maybe BH and Finck never would have quit. But we will never know.

Not really my thing, as you would expect but I definitely didn't hate it. Funny thing is, their version of sorry is actually close to what people listen to these days, Sia, Lorde etc.

I personally don't think that a remix of CD by other producers etc should be classified as a GNR album, and I don't think it should get a release under the name.

Finally, if this is the next album, I officially throw my hands up in the air and accept that I have no idea what's going on with this band, and that they give zero fucks about pleasing their fanbase. I mean I think it's kinda cool that they might consider releasing something like this in a "I don't care what you think, I'm the artist, I can and will do whatever I like" I know Billy Corgan just made that point, but it's my own opinion too having thought it for years and years. Please GNR god, please let the next release be an album that is mainly a traditional rock group format gtr, bass, drum, keys, even if that includes the synths and samples on top.

As a completist I might buy something like this, but I can't see other people less into Guns, who don't like pop or EDM going for it.

I dont think it would be, it would be like the stuff that Calvin Harris does.  Like Calvin Harris Ft. Hurt on Under Control or Calvin Harris Ft. Florence Welch

So the album could be a brain album and the songs be FT Axl Rose for those remixes

fyi That wasn't real. Someone made a fan mix a decade ago, then MSL tried to pass it off as a leak a year later... then he backtracked.

Did he? I always assumed that version was fan made that someone just added teh intro from hammerstein to the 2006 demo. I never remember anyone passing it off as a legit leak.

Billy Corgan and Axl Rose are very similar in the sense that they were the last remaining member (both being the frontman) in their respective groups and continued them and continued to release new music under their names. Billy eventually got back the OG drummer, while Axl had Duff join for the 2014 tour and Izzy guesting at a fair amount of shows. All in all, I think Billy’s music wasn’t all that interesting after the prime of Smashing Pumpkins passed. While to me, Axl released an awesome album. Now, what information does this provide to the world? Absolutely nothing. Have a nice day.

Yeah SP is one of my all time favorite bands but after Adore, Billys stuff was not that great espeically his solo stuff.

    Oh.

I'm also not familiar with the short intro version, although I have a 2006 version with a shorter end solo without Bucket (but with the new drums replacing the original drums).

You are not familiar with this one?  The intro is just missing the orchastration they added,

    I can only think of 4;

    The original (pre-Buckethead)

The 2006 one (without orchestral arrangements)

The 2007 one (with the orchestral arrangements)

    Then the anti-quiet one.

    What are the other two?

There are two 2006 versions, one with the amazing BH solo and one without.  That is 5.  And 6 is the instremenetal and of course the album version.

Sounds like a fan remix/cover. Same vocal take, some of the same elements, orchestra parts played through some synth program/app.

Not sure why anyone thinks this is a leak :shrugs:

I don't think Axl did any different vocal takes for songs that he'd already sang on from the Beavan era:

For the people claiming its a fan remix, explain to me how its a fan remix when the guitar solo and the media clips in the middle are clearer than any other version. And like I said, the media clips were not in the rock band stems, so if a fan was going to make a remix he would have to use them from the CD version and that middle secetion is not like the CD version or any of the leaks

I do not believe this is genuine. Horns at the beginning are the giveaway. If that's actual studio production from Baker then I don't blame Axl for bringing different producers on board.

You do know what a rough cut is right lol

Did you ever hear the rough cuts of the UYI songs?

    for example
