    Velvet Revolver,

    Evermore,

    Evermore,

    (in order).....

10 gigs in the first 8 weeks of 2005

  2. I like Missy Higgins... she went off aswell!

But nah wasnt on the barrier.... I went in at the end of JBT and eventually made it bout 5 from the front! Fair cheering.... This fuckhead was trying to crowd surf... my and me brother axed him then told him to fuck off back to where he came from... one min later he was back up, so me and these guys around me start fuckn him up and trying to grab his shoes.... almost fuckn had it aswel..... (they were tied on well lol).. but yes tool.

I was impressed by Silverchair... only because i was expecting all new shit... so when they played Isreal Son and The Door i was happy.... B)

how did you get that close only after JBT

I was trying to worm my way in from then on, and everytime I tried to go in front, i kept getting all these dirty looks...

  3. holy shit! that dude with the hat looks nothing like Daniel Johns! Are you sure that's Silverchair?

    What songs did they play?

    yeah it was siverchair...

I hated their setist. They didn't play pure massacre or tommorow

  4. I like em... .Where u seeing em... Good Vibrations?

    got metro tix...

I love that joint. You can pretty much garuntee yourself center barrier there if you go an hour before doors open...

For all those people who think they butchered comfortably numb, they did nothing of the sort. You will find it "comforting" to know that "comfortably numb" still exists in tact, unchanged on your pink floyd records. Theres no point in re-recording it exactly as floyd play it. At least they make it different. Just dont be so damn conservative that you cant hack it being converted into a dance track.

  5. Well to start with i didnt have much against them. they have catchy tunes, and while i wouldnt say theyre great, theyre not bad.

However, the lassie singer changed my view on them for the worst.

Edinburgh at hogmany (new years eve) i was at the street party and they were playing on stage. She was wearing a dress made out of a couple of saltires. fair enough, its scotland, but then she went into a little speech.

I cant remember the whole thing, but she rambled on about how even though she was american, she would never wave an american flag, but she would happily wear her dress made from scottish flags. then she tried to say the next time shes back here she will be scottish, and she will buy haggis, and she will eat the haggis. those were roughly her words.

If anything it was damn offensive and retarded. eating haggis will not make you scottish, nor will wearing a scotland flag or being in an american band and trying to sweet talk your way into the scottish hearts.

Ive basically lost all of the respect i had for them. catchy music, but dumbfucks.

    Oh get over it...

  6. Yeah like theres a difference between going and seeing your favourite band live and coming home thrilled because you dont just that, than seeing a band that you dont really think is particularly great, and coming home convinced that Pelle is the king of the planet.

  7. Yeah, they are fucken gay as shit, but thats whats funny. Only the chick and the drummer are straight.

I saw a bhit of the DVD and I can say the atmosphere looks to be incredible. Id say its gonna be a toss up between the hives (hehe see other thread) and scissor sisters as to who I claim to be best live band in the world, cos I think the only other band which could beat the hives is scissor sisters.

  8. fucken hell some people here shit me off

You just jump to conclusions and you havent even seen them live...

If you have I challenge you to debate what im saying cos im sure that if you have then you would agree, at least to the point that you would say "yes they were fantastic". And its got nothing to do with their music. I dont really see their albums in the same league as other bands Ive seen, but as a purely live band, they take the cake by a long way. So thats to say that for example just because Metallica is your fav band, you can still see the hives as a better live band, even though your gonna be more thrilled to death to see your fav band, metallica, live in the flesh. are the hives the best live band all time, no they arent the greatest live band of all time (and prolly far from it)..

I think GNR are the greatest live band of all time, but for a band going around today in 2005 it'd take a lot of beating.

Red hot chilli peppers are rubbish. You want to know why? Anthony is always off key, john cant keep a rhythm going for shit, he's too lazy - bring back dave. Flea is awesome I wont say anything bad about him there cos theres nothing bad. The drummer (cant remember his name) is ok i spose. As a band they dont click with one another. Their chemeistry seems false. Ive seen them twice live and they fucken suck. Their dvd's suck. Look at off the map. Thats rubbish. Slane castle is slightly better.

  9. there ok but The Best Live Band...............give me a break

    Have you seen them live??

And just out of curiosity what band would you say is better?

(not saying that there isn't a better band, just that Id like to see you back up your statements with some substance)

  10. I think he means distortion on the guitars ;P

Yeh the hives are fucking awsome. I still say red hot chili peppers is a better live band , but the hives come in at 2nd. I love their music, its so non-serious, if thats the way to put it. NON-serious rock n roll, just like the sex pistols.

Im gonna see them at the Aussie BDO on sunday =D Cant wait

    Come on man!

    RHCP are awefull live...

  11. Im here to sing the praises of a band that I truly believe to be the best live band in the world.

Ive seen over 40 bands many of them famous international bands, so im not basing this of inexperience. Their brand of entertainment sucks you in and makes you eat out of their hands like you would no other band. Pele is amazing as a frontman. Reminds me of axl in terms of enthusiasm onstage.

    But they were incredible.

Here are my pics from last night

  12. I think their songs are to simular...

they are not so much similar, as just short, without changing much in their dynamic.

Like all their songs are very different, but like they are all heavy (i.e. they wouldn't touch a ballad lol) and they are all short and dont employ many mechanisms in a song, i.e. a bridge, extended solo, etc etc to make their songs seem largely different.

The hives have always been a live playing band that just happened to record some of their tunes on album. They are albums which are marvellous to listen to for the first few times but you can get sick of them very easily wwhich is their drawback, but then their live show is something special.

  13. The hives are bloody awesome

their albums are pretty simple music. Like they dont try to make their songs overly complicated but thats intentional...

They get to the point, and then make that be it rather than taking it to death.

where this band wins out is in their live show

  14. you where standing in front of the stage if you take that picture :)  thats right bedshaped is the highlight :D  i have a bootleg of the concert where i have bin paradiso amsterdam good quality sound :D

Just about all the bands Ive seen I have photos like that...

    Snow Patrol

    Franz Ferdinand

    The Killers

    Evermore

    Live

    Metallica

etc etc (and all the support bands)

    most notably

I kinda have this thing where I only want to be right up the front so I stake out the positions. Its pretty easy in oz to get a barrier position

    Radiohead were an interesting experience...

I felt that for a band which had so much hype surrounding them, the fans were so unenthused. As though it was uncool to get into the gig. I kinda hate radiohead fans cos they dont really like the band - just the image of being a fan.

Im not that big a radiohead fan, and I probably dont put them very high on tmy list of bands ive seen this yearr so dont feel to bad. They are very produced so like theres no real unique benefit of seeing them live (apart from the fact that you get respect amongst art circles for having seen such a post modern band lol)

  15. Good to see a lot of ppl have seen keane..

I love tom chaplins voice. High quality. Im yet to see VR but I have my tickets.

"The Tourist" - you reminded me of a band I forgot to put on my list - Radiohead....

haha thats oke i'm coing to see keane again over a couble of weeks in the heineken music hall amsterdam :D keane is a awesome band tom has a great voice also live

yeah he is able to sing all the songs well live...

    Bedshaped is the highlight...

    Heres a photo I took

  16. List the bands uve seen within say the last year, and are seeing in the near future (have tickets to see). Also include the bands who opened for them.

The purpose of this thread is not to brag about whos seen what, but more to see a common interest in a band, and talk about the gigs, share photos, experiences n stuff...
