  1. Just wondering if anyone has any info on who this account is on twitter? Very interesting post on there 9 hours ago:

"An explosive interview coming this week...long n' ugly. "

    Let the speculation begin :rofl-lol:

Time will tell. If untrue, we have lost nothing. If true, we get some insight. But the "ugly" part doesn't sound too promising... Hope it's not more old band bashing... Although I'm interested to hear anything Axl has to say.

True enough. I'm not an Axllite or whatever they are called on this forum, but as he DOES say so little, i too am always intrigued to here what he has to say, especially regarding old guns.

  3. The question you need to ask yourself: "Is GNR really worth arguing with my future wife about?" Trust me. You will have much bigger arguments in the future. If the only thing you guys are arguing about is the greatness of GNR then consider yourself lucky.

If she doesn't like AFD just let it go. I've found that most people, especially women, who don't like GNR will at least like SCOM and Paradise City. If not then just learn this valuable lesson that it took me ten years to learn: you can either be happy or right, but not both.

hahaha! Its just playfull banter..not really fighting at all..after all, i give her a pretty hard time for the American Idol addiction!!

  4. So, my fiancée that i love with all my heart and soul, forwarded me a pic her friend took from a Best buy rack , selling CD for $1.99...and she wrote " now can you admit he has to give it up?" I have accepted that no matter how hard i try, i cant turn her into a GNR fan, but i can make her respect GNR!!!

i didn't want to get into the entire story with her about the best buy deal, lack of promo blah blah blah, but want to retort back with the stat on how many people attended GNR concerts in 09-10..the stat I THINK REALLY MATTERS!! ive been searching on google and am totally frustrated and i know the stat is out there!!1 Can anyone help me!!!

I can help you find a new girlfriend...

Aww,be nice now. That sucks, dude.I completely understand the feeling of friends/family just not getting GNR,particularly the whole "Chinese Democracy" release. But I wouldn't worry about it.You shouldn't have to justify their greatness with numbers and attendance stats. The music does, and always should speak for itself. If you really want to make her understand,or just leave you alone, blast a little "Better" every freakin morning, and trust me,she'll eventually be humming the intro. :) Yeah,it is that infectious.

Dont get me wrong, i dont NEED to justify their greatness, but it would sure be fun to :) if nothign else, perhaps ill try a little Better in the mornin :)

  6. So with there being almost nothing new to talk about on here these days, today is the Ides of March, and my birthday happening to fall today as well, i thought hey..... my birthday is a gnr song title!! That aint too bad at all!! Curious if anyone else has an odd gnr connection with their birthday...like an album release date or live concert date or somethin?

  7. I will NOT LISTEN to any leaks this time around. As said before, last time was different, we all waited so long and with that thought in all our heads that we may never hear a new album ever, i could not help myself from listening to the leaks. If this is all on the up and up, then its time to use a little patience. we all know Christmas morning is better when we dont peak before right?

  8. Watching all these clips - what an awesome tour it was. Axl's voice gets better and better and the band were so tight. DJ is a great inclusion in the band and I so want them to tour again SOON!

would be very cool if we could put together from all these best of performances a setlist ( as we all know they are somewhat similar lol ) of the ultimate gnr show of 2010!!

  9. I love reading about what inspires musicians to create.

For Jim Morrison for example, it was Rimbaud, Nietzsche, Blake, Joseph Campbell and numerous other poets and writers and some playwrights. His influences, both literary and musically, are easily traceable. Mick Jagger was inspired by whatever was happening at the moment and sometimes by books like Master and Margarita.

We know some of what Axl's early MUSICAL influences were (Elton, Led Zeppelin, 10cc, ELO, Queen Judas Priest [maybe], Hanoi Rocks, The Stones, Punk bands), and his midperiod ('90s) influences (Faith No More, Nirvana, Jane's Addiction, Nine Inch Nails, KMFDM, Soundgarden, Lusk, Tool, Radiohead, Red Hot Chilli Peppers).

But one thing we've never really known is:

    What music influences Axl now?

Also, what books/movies have provided influence to Axl in creating? I really do sort of wonder what books, movies, etc have influenced his work, both on the Illusions and on CD.

would be very interestign to know..BUT the man has done ONE interview in how many years????? We would all be just guessing

  10. as i live in vancouver canada, i will never see axl live in this town again i assume. I agree they are not the mega rock act of 86-93, but i have NOT been to a show ( and have not therefore complained about setlists ever..lol ) but have a feeling that for the hundreds of thousands who have seen them in concert this year might disagree that they arent every bit as big and powerful for the 2 hours + they got to see them

" hey my peeps! " as Tommy Stinson puts it.

so yeah, another month passed by, exactly one since the last update of this topic,

and now GNR have more than 5 mil. Facebook fans.

and if one of you asks so what?

well let me tell you, that it matters, as U2 - the best band in the world (a band I like by the way) in the last years,

has just a little more than 6 mil. so...

    but thats just another aspect.

my first point is that, through this thread, all you naysayers can see how, in the last past months GNR grown bigger and bigger as fan base, and to keep telling your selfs that GNR now are not as big as they use to be, is just a self-induce illusion you wish to perpetrate on your selfs just so you can justify your youth for cry, since the evidence is here!

    piss in and peace out!

    cheers

but the point you're trying to prove is full of holes. if anything this only proves the point that this band needs an identity separate from Guns N' Roses, because there isn't any way of telling what band these people are really "liking". The majority of them could just as easily be fans of Axl/Slash/Duff/Izzy, but theres literally no way of finding out for sure, its the exact same band name. You're basing this argument on the fact all these "likes" occurred recently, well, facebook likes for artists dead and gone continue to rise as well, it doesn't really mean anything other than somebody who was already a fan of said artist stumbled upon their page and clicked the "like" button. whoopdy fuckin doo

You can't possibly gauge the popularity for this band because it shares the same name as ONE OF THE BIGGEST BANDS OF ALL TIME, and you wonder why there's this controversy and these "naysayers"

and yes, 86-93 GNR was one of the biggest bands ever. This band touring right now doesn't even come close, and if you seriously think they do then you sir are the one with the self induced illusion

    you're weird.

  11. Another great show.

The band is gaining a strong positive momentum.

Axl is on fire, on top of his game and really enjoying himself!! He also seems to have lost quite a few pounds lately.

Although I do support the new jeans theory for axl's recent top form, I do have a theory wondering what you all think....

Ever since axl's stand still performance after returning to the stage ( which no one can deny his vocals were the best we may have ever heArd) the ego Ramps are gone, he is not running around AS much as usual from all the you tube videos post bottle night....maybe axl realized he needs to adjust his game a LITTLE at the tender age of 47???

Btw, this is not a knock on the man at all...no doubt he's on fire right now

  12. Anyone ever listen to TIL and realize the solo is way too high in the mix? It should have been taken down a few decibels during the final mix......and to think, after all that time, and the mix isn't 100% perfect. Im sure Axl wanted the solo to really slam in, but its just way too loud.

    You cannot be serious

  13. I think the song will be perfect, Bumblefoot was accused of quitting and the media's been out to get Axl again, and everyone is making out they will turn up late and the show will be cancelled.

This will be one of them fuck you moments.

Ohhhhhh good call buddy. I hope your right! Smokin track!

  14. Ummm...what the heck is this? It sounds like a joke to me?

why does it sound like a joke? loads of big band rehearse in this joint in London!

    G2R drummer didn't recognise Gn'R?

    R.

Please tell me you saw the sarcasm in the drummers message?

My bad~ i get it now. I thought they were talking ABOUT this G2R group....so we get out ta get me back in the set!
