  1. Seems to be GnR were a big load of girls anyway...were they not such massive tarts they'd be together now and one of the most successful bands in the world, instead scratching their arses for a living releasing sub-standard quality material while the best singers busying getting wanked off by his housekeeper.

....busying getting wanked off by his housekeeper....no wonder the guy doesn't give a shit about his fans anymore. But hey, free speech lives loud n proud on this board so everybody clap their hands

  2. If I knew Vancouver 02 would've went down the way it did I'd have gotten a passport, bought plane tix, and paid for front row seats. Sometimes the most rock n roll thing is no rock n roll. I thought it was a great way for Axl to kick off his comeback tour.

i was in a limo that night pulling up to the arena doors still being locked and realizing the shit was about to hit the fan before it even did. its a memory not worth having man

  3. He plays the poor me game. "Nobody cares what I have to say." Boo hoo. When he does speak he blows smoke up everyone's ass, strings the fans along, makes excuses, points the finger at everyone else without giving concrete reasons, and mostly talks in vague, cryptic messages. Then, the few disciples he has left, try to decipher his message.

I'm sure if he wanted to talk about the touring band and all the things they were doing to "move forward" the press would be interested in hearing about it. Oh, but poor sensitive, paranoid Axl doesn't trust just any interviewer. So, he writes the questions and still gives open ended, vague answers.

To admit to the world that he doesn't care about moving forward with his grand vision would be to admit that there is no Guns n Roses, they aren't a "band" creating original music, that he is a solo artist, or at least, a solo performer, and that everything he "fought so hard to keep going" is gone. And, that would be fine. But be honest about it and stop dicking everyone around.

The problem is you and some other people here treat Axl as if he was a politician or someone who is in a place owing something to somebody else. The man is an artist!

He will produce art whenever he feels right and if he feels he don't want to do anything else ever again, then he won't. There isn't an obligation or contract signed with anyone (except with his recording company) to do stuff.

It's not like the world stops because he doesn't release music. It's not like a million of people are starving because he doesn't release music. Stop demanding shit from a guy who has no major responsability over the life of anyone in this planet.

Getting so mad and aggressive as you get will not take you anywhere, dude. Just move on with your life, try other artists and if Axl ever decides to put music out, you'll find out.

This habit of complicating something that is so simple is getting ridiculous.

He is an entertainer, not an artist. He'd like people to think he was an artist, and has done his best to form that image. But, he isn't an artist.

If you want me to take a dump in a box and call it art, I will. I've got spare time.

jesus, this is just pure stupidity reading this....cant figure out which is more puzzling to me, that you dont think he is an artist or that he has "done his best" to form the image of one. good lord man why are you even here at all?

  4. Just having a look through Youtube and came across some Izzy tribute videos (covers of his parts) and it struck me how awesome alot were (the parts that is, not necessarily the covers), it felt like a lot of what I was listening to to was what I hear most in Guns songs. One guy in particular commented on how alot of Izzy parts are wrongly attributed to Slash, which I found pretty interesting. If these parts are accurate it's like Izzy is the heart of many Appetite songs we hold dearest. Sure Slash soloing throughout songs is cool but most of the song structure and riffs seem to be originating from Izzy.

I may even have been guilty of thinking Slash wrote most guitar parts for Appetite (even the parts played by Izzy), it seems I may have been doing Izzy a great disservice.

To me, when you think about Slash's solo work (mostly below par) it makes sense that Izzy was the main driver behind alot of what we hear on Appetite. Slash is most famous for Sweet child and Paradise intro and some admittedly brilliant solos.

I'd love to know on Illusions what Izzy is playing and writing. I think I have to re-evaluate Izzy's contribution to Guns on the evidence of some of these videos.

It isn't helped by remarks by band members that "Izzy's amp had to be turned down" etc. I do have the feeling (possibly wrongly) that Izzy's contribution dropped off slightly during Illusion writings and recordings but during Appetite/Lies he most definitely seems to be earning his coin contributing to the magic of Gn'r.

Have a look at some of these and tell me what you think.

    thanks for posting this!

  5. Absolutely the wrong moment to use to compare his vocals over the years. Really couldn't have picked less illuminating clips if we're talking about his overall quality of performance. If we're trying to say he can still do it if he were to give a fuck, then fine, I'm on board with that. But he always pushes himself a bit at the end of PC. It's the end of the show, so I guess he figures why not try for 30 seconds. Not at all representative of how he performs over the length of a show which has been, as Nosaj says, absolute shit since 2011. Intermittent rasp can fuck off.

i couldnt disagree with you more. The guy has been singing his ass of for 2-3 hours by the time we get to this point of the show. Whether he is in good vocal form that night or not, hes given Everything up to that point in the show and we are getting whats left at the bottom of the energy tank

    lol

i guess you dont have any singing in your background lol

  7. He's kind of the polar opposite of Axl in this respect but somehow neither are getting the balance right. I liked some of songs on the last album but hearing about a new one so soon feels like too much. There must be something in the idea of being slightly hungry to hear new music but not flat out starving either.

well said and i tend to agree with you on this.I WANT to like his solo material and can usually find 3-4 tracks on each album that i really enjoy but after that its like there isnt anyone around him to tell him to take it back to the kitchen and fininsh cookin it before serving if that makes any sense?

  8. I love Steven. You could hand him a cup as a gift and he'd proclaim it to be the best cup in the world.

I wonder what the tracklisting would be for an album based on their life experiences so far

Welcome to the Dry House (Adler)

    It's So Cheesy (Axl)

    Weightgain (Axl & Slash)

    They Got Me (Izzy)

    Mr. Coldstone (Axl & Slash)

    Exercise City (Duff)

    My Del (Axl)

Think About Food (Axl & Slash)

Sweet Pie O' Mine (Axl & Slash)

    I'm Crazy (Axl)

    Marrying Ho's (Slash)

Cash Machine (Axl, Slash, Izzy, Duff, Adler)

that is some funny shit man!

  9. Axl and Slash's bands. .. poles apart in quality.

    This sentence is accurate.

The worst song Slash has written since he left Guns, is still better than the entire Chinese Democracy record.

how can you say that with There Was a Time on the record??? your comment baffles me. seriously

I don't know why people get crazy over that song. Buckethead is great, so is Finck but lyrics are utter shit.

    hahaaha

  10. I don't see anything wrong in the vid. Girl had her time with Axl, decided to stay when she had to leave. Someone had to pull her out and lol Fermanager did it amicably.

ha! i was at the show! vancouver 2011 and i remember the crowd loving that. almost as much as when he tossed a guy during whole lotta rosie!

  11. to each their own, but i really think what makes the Illusion albums special is the piano parts throughout. They made THEIR brand of rock n roll and they did it with a piano and i love every track that has it included. If you were wanting Appetite Volume 2 then i guess you got dissapointe

Best? Nonsense! Dizzy and Axl's over use of piano on those records are completely unnecessary. Do we need piano on KOHD, So Fine, PTU? No, we don't. Civil War is another one. I really would like to hear someone make their own mix and strip the piano parts out of all but the Axl songs and see how they sound. I know some of the demos are better, particularly Civil War so I bet it would be awesome.
