    ever hear this one? its fucking awesome, he does that finger picking shit that fortus always rocks in this one but its like 10x better.

    hes not the fastest or the most versatile, but who the fuck cares? i would be playing that shit all the time too if i had technique like that. AXL WHY THE FUCK DID YOU SCARE HIM AWAY?! there wouldnt be any more 'we want slash back' bullshit.

    I don't like those guitars he uses, dosn't really fit gnr's image at all. Where does Axl find these people honestly :confused:

    he finds them by asking some of the world's most respected guitarists of all time coughjoesatrinicough. has anyone noticed that the foot guitar hasn't made a single appearance during the US tour? christ. it's a fucking guitar! who cares what it looks like as long as he plays it well. in any event, that guitar is a better playing (and IMO sounding) guitar than any gibson that's ever come out of the factory. google "vigier guitars" and check out some of their stuff.

    can someone please take care of this thread? i hate that i keep posting, but i find the need to defend ron from these idiots as he's one of the greatest guitarists i've ever seen perform (i saw both him and bucket solo this year and his show was infinitely better IMO), not to mention he was cool as fuck when i approached him after the show.

    Satriani is good, but far from the best out there....

    i don't think far is the word...

    btw, the reason the foot guitar hasn't been used is because it broke beyond repair, i guess that's what happens when you play a guitar for 10 hours a day for a decade. <_<

    I've seen Ozzy live. Not just Ozzy, I've seen him with Black Sabbath.

    I can only say one thing to those who says Ozzy's no good anymore:

    Screw You! I saw him last summer, and damnit he was good!

    Best time of my life. I've seen Mötley, Judas Priest, and other bands

    and nothing was as good as Black Sabbath. Ozzy has to take his credit for that!

    I hope you'll get the chance to see him.

    well i'm sure he's good on ocassion if he takes care of himself, but everytime i've seen him since the no more tours tour for ozzmosis (a lot), it was obvious that iommi, zakk, and even joe holmes were carrying the show.

    i saw them (sabbath) with pantera not too long before pantera broke up, ozzy totally lost his voice, the audience sang damn near every song alone.

    i still fucking love the guy, though. :) and i plan to see him live again anyway.

    Does this band really need 3 guitar players????

    i wouldn't miss robin one bit, ron and fortus crush him in every aspect, ESPECIALLY songwriting.

    Piss off...'Better' is one of the best new songs and Robin wrote that. The material hasnt been released yet and always already got one winner.

    Hes had no solo project because Chinese Democracy is it. Its what hes been working on for 9 years. I think from what weve heard Robins has oodles of talent already.

    sure it's an ok song, a little cliche for my taste, (i was really hoping CD would be cliche-free, especially with BH and BBFs help) and i'd bet it'd sound lame as fuck without axl. fortus and ron have better, MUCH better in their repertoires. :book:

    to be fair, robin has better in his repertoire too... unfortunately, that just happens to be the name of the song :P

    I agree with most of that.

    Buckethead is a dick and could never come close to bbf in terms of fitting in with GNR. Chicken face was a great guitarist but reduced the bands credibility to a minus figure.

    I'd have no problem with the guy if he'd just take the damn get up off and let his playing talk for him, rather than his halloween costume. His fans will come on and claim he does that so he can let his art do the talking, but thats true, he wouldn't have needed a gimmick in the first place.

    bbf is better at a lot of the technical aspects he uses than Bucket is too, although I'd say he was better overall.

    But in GNR, it's bbf by plenty...

    Do you play guitar? Do you work in the industry? Do you know anything about guitar playing and the guitar community? I agree Buckethead was not a good fit for GNR, but do not say that Bumblefoot is better at ANY aspects of guitar playing than Buckethead. Seriously dude, that is so far from the truth. Ask any credible guitar player or guitar virtuoso about Buckethead. Trust me on this... He is really THAT GOOD. Buckethead is so good that people can't grasp it. I am not going to start comparing guitarist for a number of reasons. Any intermediate guitar player can play the entire GNR catalogue. I defy those same guitarists to even play 95% of what Buckethead does. He does stuff that he does not even get credit for because no one knows what he is doing, and/or they think it is something done through skillfull engineering. Buckethead uses guitar set-ups that would confuse almost every guitarist. I think Bumblefoot is a great guitarist and a stand-up guy. Buckethead is a PHENOMINAL guitarist. His technical abilites piss on some of the greatest of guitarists. Buckethead plays some of the most difficult music you will ever see in your life. If Bucket is not on the CD it will suffer unimaginably. Comparing Bumblefoot to Buckethead is just not right. I am sure Ron would agree with me on this. There is a reason Buckethead "stupid mask and bucket and all", are so highly regarded despite his rediculous appearance. This should tell you something......

    not many (good) guitarists are gonna agree with you on that... i can pull off most of buckets tricks, short of 7 and 8 finger tapping (and i don't care to learn, because it sounds like random shit), i'd say i could pull of 80% of his shit, big sur moon is actually REALLY easy. BBF is a totally different story, his solos are so frantic, they're close to impossible to learn, whereas bucket recycles his riffs much more. he does the triplet legato pull off on 2 strings riff for almost EVERY solo, he's still good, but not even in my top 10.

    Oh, and BBF confirmed he WILL be on some tracks. :)

    first watch this and listen to what he says

    1- Fire Marshall fault? Its GNR Camp duty to have everything settled, days before playing in each venue. Like maximum capacity in a venue, fireworks limitations, alcohol limitation, etc. Its GNR Camp fault NOT KNOWING this in advance.

    wrong. they HAD that in order when the local production crew knew that other bands with the same equipment had no problem playing there. READ PRESS RELEASE.

    2- Like someone said: "Pyro's is no f*ing excuse. I was just there 2 weeks ago for Godsmack. they had big pyros. Motley Crue last year? Big Pyros. I don't know what happened, but it wasn't the freakin' pyros". It's not that the fire marshall over there HATES AXL, so he prohibites GNR using pyro. NO! Its not like everyone in this world is against YOU AXL.

    see my comment above. maybe they DO hate axl. there's alot of christian psychophants out there.

    3- For the fans? Are you kidding me? Are you serious? I think most of the fans prefer watching a show without pyros (and maybe knowing the reason why there are no pyros), than no having a show AT ALL!! Or take one more day off and travel to another city to see a show with that includes the "all mighty unreplaceble" pyro.

    your oppinion. i've seen the 2006 show over 8 times and i couldn't IMAGINE it without the pyros. still, it's his art and his choice.

    4- Were is the rock n roll man? Stop the bitching and do the fuckin show without any pyro and just say "fuck the fire marshall, that asshole didnt want us to do the freakin show, well here we are fucker!!". Its more a diva attitude than a rockstar attitude to cancel a concert cuz of this.

    5- Cant you go just make an accoustic set instead? Like a more intimate concert? What in the world stopped you from doing that? It would be a more fuckin special show than those who have the normal set with pyro.

    5- Fuck it, this is fuckin horrible to the tour, less people are now, willing to go to a GNR show cuz of this. NORMAL fans just doesnt appreciate this stuff.

    your oppinion. reality is, that was a small town and a small venue and this affects the tour MUCH less than cancelling jacksonville and nashville, but everything went GREAT after that. GOOD JOB SO FAR AXL!

    read the press release one more time... shit, THREE more times since your reading comprehension and attention span is obviously that of a 10 year old. and watch this again

    it's an OPINION that people would rather see gnr without pyros than not at all?! are you mad, man? disconnect from axl's asshole and reconnect with reality, fuck...

    BBF should have his band on standby for next time this happens :)
