No band goes on tour without a backup at guitars, drums, etc. incase someone falls ill - and those people practice all the songs that band could possibly play on the tour.

What the fuck is your point here? If you didn't have the internet and know the previous setlists - which most of the people at this show are covered by - The Blues and Better would be brand new to you. It's only the hardcore fans who download the concert bootlegs. 95% of the people at this show have never heard Better live.

The concert isn't even half over and you're making proclimations and throwing names. Do us all a favor - at least shut the fuck up till it's over. Because a) most people with a brain weren't expecting many changes from the warmup gigs and euro tour and B) even if they do add a song or two, it's likely to be towards the end once the crowd is into the show.

Jarmo most certainly can be a prick....but banning a douche is not prickish qualities...and if he banned you(for a 2nd time), I applaud him.

Jarmo has needlessly been a prick all week IMO... it's seriously turned me off HTGTH and I've been there since 2002 (and lurked before that). He's never even said shit all to me personally, I just can't stand the guy's ego and attitude at this point. It's why I'm here now instead of there.

It's gonna be important for this band to win over the US crowd. Much like they did at Donnington and Inland Invasion. They have a long way to go to be credible in a lot of people's eyes.

Buy cheap seats for NB, it's only 45 mins away so time away from class shouldn't matter.

They have all the right to do anything to protect their investment. Everything else, is philosophy. This is business. You can't complain about companies trying to protect from pirating. The cd you buy only intitles you to hear music off that cd. Do not make this into a moral dilema. It is business plain and simple. I don't blame them???

You *can* and *should* complain. Companies aren't trying to protect themselves from piracy. Real pirates laugh at the shoddy DRM music companies use. Copyright law in most nations under Fair Use or similar headings allows you to copy works for personal use. When you buy a CD full of songs you are legally entitled to copy those songs, for example, to a tape to play in your car.

The record industry has chosen to ignore the law because it's big, rich, and powerful enough to do so. It bought legislation (DMCA, NET Act) that sends people to jail for breaking DRM, and then it fills CDs with DRM schemes akin to viruses in order to force consumers into buying multiple copies of the same music.

This and the lawsuits will float the RIAA's failing business model for a few more years, which is all they really want to do - buy time so they can gauge you more.

It's not business, it's borderline illegal, which is why they're facing a RICO suit, being investiaged by at least one attorney general, and have settled multiple lawsuits out of court to avoid embarassment.

P.S. - whoever mentioned StarForce is this thread - that protection scheme was coded by former crackers, many of whom would be facing jail sentences if they were ever found. It's the biggest joke in the gaming world, the gaming industry hired a bunch of hackers/crackers to protect their product - and StarForce, as noted by PC Gamer and a lot of other industry magazines and websites, can do serious damage to your PC. Think twice before ever buying a game with it. It functions at the driver level and is nearly impossible to get rid of without formatting.

Leaks? Piracy? The real damage comes from the putrid quality of music today. I've bought plenty of CDs in my life, well over 100, I almost never download MP3s unless it's unreleased stuff (live bootlegs etc) that I like to collect and CAN'T buy, and yet I've bought maybe 5 CDs in the last five years.

Why? Because music now sucks.

And the other couple CDs I wanted, the industry put copy protection on, and despite the fact that I could bypass it in seconds, I will not support their use of harmful, quality-reducing technology.

Now, I think people should stop paying attention to Warchild. I'm beginning to think he or she has some serious problems, after the claim of hiring a private eye (oh isn't that coincidence with IRS lyrics) to track darkemus and now this. Either he/she is desperate for attention or has a problem dealing with reality (invetigating on behalf of the band? Give me a break).
