I think they did a pretty good job of it actually. The drumming is pretty good on it (from what I can remember from 2 months back) and Armstrong's voice suited the song I thought.

green day shouldn't cover anything, it's enough if they fuck up their songs. but the original is pretty weak, anyway - at least in my opinion. the manics have covered it as well and that's the only version i like.

It's basically the original with new vocals. I just don't see the point of doing covers when you have nothing new to offer. I mean, it's an opportunity to attack the original material with a different perspective. Cover songs should be about how far you can depart from the original vision, yet still stay in touch with the lyrics and main hooks. This is just a lazy effort.

Greenday is generally awesome, though. Dookie and American Idiot are fabulous records.
