Zint Posted March 18, 2008 Share Posted March 18, 2008 I was reading the paper in the coffee shop today.There was an article on Bryan Adams' new cd called 11.Here's a paragraph from it:Adams also revisited the the topic of celebrity with Flower Grown Wild,a song based on Shannon Wilsey a.k.a. Savannah,a former stripper and girlfriend of Slash who killed herself."To me,it's sort of an ode to the fallen star and a little bit of a nod to to the way we devour our celebrities and spit them out" Adams says of Flower Grown Wild."We devour them because we love them,but then we spit them out.It was that idea of one woman's journey to stardom and then the way she can't deal with it".Just a bit of trivia I thought I'd pass along.(I know,not VR news...just wanted to get a link to it here because it's somewhat Slash related...I'm moving it to My World). I watched part of the E True Hollywood Story about her and from what I gathered she just got way too wrapped up in her addictions and couldn't find her way out. He never mentioned her in his book....not by name, anyway. Kinda reminds me of this song: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=luAOy9NgkuoI've always liked BA, he has an awesome voice, a really good pop sensibility and had some pretty rockin' tunes back in the day. Unfortunately, with a few exceptions, his songs have gone downhill since he ended his writing partnership with Jim Vallance.
