moreblack
playing a song a little faster is not reinventing, nor is it any kind of innovation. They just have no sense of tempo. Props to Taylor for his best Albert King/Eric Clapton impersonation. Edited February 5, 2013 by moreblack

Props to Taylor for his best Albert King/Eric Clapton impersonation. They totally reinvented the song from being a psychedelic rock song with the sitar and effects to being a fast paced arena rock song full of guitars with an amazing, chaotic, punky feel to it.They were the kings until Taylor quit. moreblack
They totally reinvented the song from being a psychedelic rock song with the sitar and effects to being a fast paced arena rock song full of guitars with an amazing, chaotic, punky feel to it.I'd say that's more of a natural progression for most bands. They tend to beef up the songs in lieu of all the layers/tracks they put on in the studio. In essence doing more with less. But for the most part this is something that just happents to live versions of a song over time. They like emphasizing the vibe of the song to an exaggerated degree, which is why you'll find also that the slow songs are done slower than the studio version when performed live.
