Just heard this on the radio

bigcountry

I was listening to a local radio station about 30 mins ago and they said they were going to playing a new song from a very big rock band and said the band is a legend and that it was a new release song. He also stated that it didn't need any hype so he wasn't going to hype it up too much just said to stay tuned. It could be GNR or Metallica. I hope it is GNR.

Metallica

Hold back the flames, but in all seriousness, you could not play 'Shackler's Revenge' and have people immediately know it was GNR.

It's ok---the last couple of minutes are pretty good. Nothing special from the guitar solos but they are there. Problem is there are so many other metal bands paying better and more inspired solos these days. Sounds like they are trying too hard to capture their past INHO. It's only one song though....

So far all the demos off Chi Dem are much better songs - so Axl, you have NOTHING to worry about

Eh...this is way better than Axl's leaks. Maybe not a great Metallica-song, but still the stuff we've heard from Axl lately is just gracing good (most of it is bad).

I could see how 80+% of the population would HATE songs like There was a time (I still have a hard time turning it into an acronym without laughing), Song 2, If the World, IRS, and Madagascar. I find most of those songs awesome, but most of the time I show them to people they just shrug and don't care, cause they aren't attention grabbing, catchy, or rocking.

Chinese Democracy might have a couple weeks at #1 on the rock album charts, based mostly on curiosity and respect for the legacy of the name, but for all you people thinking that it will revitalize rock, set new records, or change the way albums are marketed in the digital age...you sound ridiculous. Get real, these songs aren't that great, and they certainly haven't caught on outside of the hardest of hardcore fans that would eat up almost anything Axl puts out.

Good album, probably. Great? No way. AFD or UYI sales? Try Spaghetti incident.

Again- to each their own - but I haven't exactly heard many songs in the last few years that are as good as TWAT or Better

Biased? Probably - But I can live with that - :rofl-lol:

And this album IS going to be great - and it will sell more than you think it will

Metallica never interested me that much, and this new single reminded me why. I loved the Black album, and S&M, but I've never liked any of their other stuff except for a few songs here and there.

I'm sorry but the new Metallica song is great. People hate on them so much because they set the bar so high back in the day. But again, if they were a new band we'd all be loving it.
