Personally I admire their immense dedication to technically mastering their instruments. That said, there are few that I actually want to listen to, Satriani would be one, Vai's good on occaisons. I haven't really listened to much Michael Angelo Batio.Absolutely. People say virtuosos have no emotion in their music. If anyone has emotion in there, it's them. They love their instruments, they spent 10 hours a day just practicing everything, learning every scale. They didn't start playing the guitar to get chicks, like some Rock N' Roll band guitarists. They started playing for the art and total perfection of playing guitar. Virtuosos are awesome, because they have the total artistic freedom, since they can play whatever they went because there are no technical boundaries or whatever that could get in their way in expressing what they want. But to know that he is one of the most brilliant technicians in the world is a fact that can't be denied.Everytime I hear him play I feel like a moron for trying to play guitar myself.
