Best Debut Albums?

Some bands seem to get it right the very first time with their debut record. Which debut album do you think is the best?

At the moment I'm pretty torn between Are You Experienced, Zeppelin, High Voltage and Piper O_o

I think I'm going to go with Zeppelin by a very small margin... If Zeppelin weren't on the list I would've gone with Piper , since that album is pretty much flawless.

Appetite, thats kind of why I come here.

Appetite, closely followed by Are You Experienced? and High Voltage.

But overall it's a tie between my two favourite all time albums - Appetite and Definitly Maybe - Oasis. Definitly Maybe is a fuckin' masterpiece.

Please Please Me has a special place in my heart for this sheer coolness of Lennon and McCartneys prodigious partnership. I think Misery is up there with the best of their work. Anna too is totally groovy.

Definitely Maybe you can't really fuck around with although i think Morning Glory meets it right where it lives too.

Grace is stunning, Zep is obvious and the idea of a band having songs as accomplished as Light My Fire or as insane as The End on their first record is pretty mindblowing.

That is of course excluding AFD, sometimes I forget how ridiculous an album that is as a whole for a band to have come onto the scene with.

^ Totally. The Door's s/t is stunning. But, you can't deny the awesomeness of Zep 1. Dazed and Confused, How Many More Times, Communication Breakdown, etc... Great chemistry and brilliant interpretation of the Blues
