bt88 Posted August 14, 2009 Posted August 14, 2009 Listen here:http://www.metalinsider.net/new-music/new-...-check-my-brainDefinitely better than the other song they released, and that song may work better in the actual context of the album. Either way this one has the trademark creepy guitar grooves and Jerry dominates the track. I think its safe to say AIC are back. Quote
Snake Eyes Posted August 14, 2009 Posted August 14, 2009 It's alright, still not that impressed to be honest.Better than A Looking In View thankfully at least. Quote
Nobodys_Fault Posted August 14, 2009 Posted August 14, 2009 I'm interested in hearing the song they did with elton john.. hopefully it will be better than this. Quote
Turn_It_Up Posted August 14, 2009 Posted August 14, 2009 (edited) Dig it. Big time. "Woozy" guitar riffs or Bust!!! Edited August 14, 2009 by Turn_It_Up Quote
Turn_It_Up Posted August 14, 2009 Posted August 14, 2009 (edited) Love this track. How can anyone not get off on this?!!Slash better have at least one woozy guitar riff on the solo album or will be sorely disappointed.Seriously, this shit ROCKS...BTW, AIC finding DuVall and releasing this type of hard rockin' music should be the blueprint for VR. Singers are out there, now find the right one... Edited August 14, 2009 by Turn_It_Up Quote
quadlaser Posted August 14, 2009 Posted August 14, 2009 I absolutely LOVE this song. I listened to it like 10 times. Quote
estranged 16 Posted August 15, 2009 Posted August 15, 2009 It's alright, still not that impressed to be honest.same here. i really hope the rest of the album has some better material Quote
ThinkAboutYou Posted August 15, 2009 Posted August 15, 2009 (edited) not very impressed with either of the first two songs Edited August 15, 2009 by ThinkAboutYou Quote
oneway23 Posted August 15, 2009 Posted August 15, 2009 first two songs are too plodding and underdeveloped. There's nothing here but a riff, quite literally. The songs sadly seem to lack the movement and sheer drive of something like "Them Bones" or "Damn That River." This doesn't necessarily prevent them from being decent tunes, it's just that the ingenuity present in most of their prior songwriting is severely lacking here. Quote

I like the dirty gritty sound but c'mon we should be able to understand the lyrics. Quote
Dead Flower Posted August 15, 2009 Posted August 15, 2009 Heard the new AIC song today, fucking brilliant!Slashman Quote
Forsaken Posted August 15, 2009 Posted August 15, 2009 this song would kick ASS if layne were on it Quote
bt88 Posted August 15, 2009 Author Posted August 15, 2009 as a hardcore, old school AIC fan Ive given this track a bunch of honest listens and I can say I love it. Love the riff, love the harmonies and the catchy chorus. I still think it sounds like a Jerry solo song though. I guess thats the best we can hope for. I dont think AIC should have to die just because Layne Staley made some poor choices Quote
G n F n R Posted August 16, 2009 Posted August 16, 2009 Thanks for the link. B) It's gonna take me a bitr to get used to William Duvall's vocals, but they sound solid. It took me awhile to get used Scott Weiland in VR, but that worked out for awhile. Alice in Chains sounded great back in '07, when I saw them perform with Velvet Revolver. Quote
Shooting Star Posted August 16, 2009 Posted August 16, 2009 I miss Layne so bad, he was a terrible lost. But this song exceeded my expectations. In fact I really enjoyed.I also liked the Cd cover."AIC's fine, somebody check my brain" Quote
