Snake Eyes
what the fuck is Indie music anyway? Can anybody tell me? Weirdest definition in the world...In my view, it's anything that can't be put into the normal genres. More creative a lot of the time as well. Jumpin' Jack Flash
Isn't it ironic that a lot of the bands that carry the indie moniker are signed to major labels?
Snake Eyes
Isn't it ironic that a lot of the bands that carry the indie moniker are signed to major labels?Exactly. Razorlight, Kaiser Chiefs, Fratellis etc.. are dubbed big indie bands but their really pretty mainstream. Not that their shit but their not "indie indie" if you ken what I mean.Genres just irritate me these days.

chevelle
right, exactly, presuming its short for independent, independent of what exactly? I don't get it..A record label. Guess that doesn't really apply to most "indie" bands anymore, though. Edited May 16, 2010 by chevelle
Guest Len B'stard
A record label. Guess that doesn't really apply to most "indie" bands anymore, though. Which is whats weird cuz it seems that the people here are referring to a genre or something because none of the aforementioned, at least that i've heard of, aren't signed to a major record label.
