over in the poll section, there's a whole "which was more embarassing, axl in rio or slash at the super bowl with the black eyed peas?" thing.

if you thought it was embarassing for slash to play with black eyed peas, then how do you feel about richard working with rhianna?

Speaking personally, I don't give a shit. The guy's a session musician and he has to make a living. Slash on the other hand is a big name (albeit in a cartoonish, iconographic kind of way these days) and has both a legacy to protect and the money to do what he wants.

There are a few differences :

Richard is a session musician. That's what he DOES for a living. He needs these kinds of gig.

Slash is a rock legend. He is already fucking rich. He DOESN'T need it.

If he doesn't need it, then it means that he enjoy it, right ? Yeah, either that or he likes fame ( which I don't have a problem with really ) but leave Guns n' Roses songs out of it.

If you want to play them with your touring band, fine, you took part in their writing, you owe the right to play them as much as you want...But for fuck's sake, don't give them the BEP remix treatment. Don't take part in a horrible David Guetta remix of November Rain. It's your legacy, it's what made you famous, PROTECT IT.
