DieselDaisy
I think it is absolute shit personally. I mean you people are saying that Temple of Doom would have recieved the same criticism if the net existed yet Temple doesn't have horrible cgi! Johnny Drama
Load of fucking tosh. Why are we talking about this crap? There's something being underrated and then just being a pile of shit.
Lithium
It's not a good film, but the massive hate for it is a great example of people who grew up in the 80s and 90s getting butthurt because their precious nostalgia was pissed on. Vincent Vega
I think it is absolute shit personally. I mean you people are saying that Temple of Doom would have recieved the same criticism if the net existed yet Temple doesn't have horrible cgi!The point is if Temple--with it's gags, bending of reality, physically impossible stunts, etc--came out in 2008, in the net era, it would have been hated just the same. Crystal Skull and Temple are very similar in a number of ways. Nostalgia blinds people to the fact that the Indiana Jones series are B movies through and through, because everything seems better from when you were a kid. which would NOT fare well in today's cinema, which is focused on realism and grit. TOD, for all its bad moments (which I agree with you on), is an infinitely superior film to Crystal Skull. The same applies for the Last Crusede. Those two films have redeeming features - and this is not nostalgia speaking - whereas the Crystal Skull is truly wretched.
CheapJon
Since I was a kid I always heard how awesome Indiana Jones were. I had high hopes and finally watched the first movie about a year or so ago. Thought it was corny as hell and sucked ballz. Never cared for the others after that.
