alfierose
I was wondering this after looking at the photos of Slash, Steven and John 5. Do you still get bands coming into Canters? The musicians that were successful in the nineties are all getting older now, are there obvious bands about that might inherit the scene from GnR, Motley etc or is the whole Sunset Strip vibe going to end with them?I would be interested to hear your thoughts. Thanks.
recklessroad
Not really, once in a while I will see a band that looks like a real band but its like once a year. I feel bad for them because I know its next to impossible to next off the ground. They have to pay $500 to $750 to get a 35 minute set at the Whisky or the Roxy and do a soundcheck at 5 pm and stay there until its time to play and in the end there is no one there to see their set. dalsh327
Why would the clubs keep making bands pay out of pocket? It seems like they hurt themselves by doing that.I think Maroon 5 and Linkin Park were the last big LA based bands.
alfierose
Thanks MarcIt's sad that there is no reasonable venue for new bands to showcase. As dalsh said it seems counterproductive.
