Why No Release? Simple.

On one hand, that's commendable. On the other hand, clearly Axl also wanted to connect with a large number of people, but he couldn't pull it off. And clearly, he's so disheartened by the whole experience that he will never release music ever again.

Again, pure conjecture and speculation. Unless you know Axl personally and are part of his inner-circle, you have no way of knowing that. For all you know he wants to release new music this year and is working on getting a release date set right now.

It's total disregard about anything but creating the album he wanted to make.

And since I think the outcome was great, in a way it was valid. Was it worth it? one album in 20 years? I don't know, but he did what he believed in without stopping until it was done. That's admirable imo, at least on some level.

Oh, can you link me to where Mags said that Axl Rose has ruined his life? From what I can tell from his posting history, Mags is a fan of Axl and the old band, but he is disappointed with what Axl has done with the GnR name since the old band split ways. He doesn't take the band or this forum so seriously though as to where it would effect his actual life in any way shape or form. And if he did take the band that seriously, I would really suggest he eliminate the internet and the band from his life and get some hardcore counseling in. In fact, anybody who actually gets angry or takes this board that seriously should probably not frequent internet forums.

As for the topic of why no release, it's really one of those things we'll always debate. There's so much fucking mystery around this band. And I don't mean that in a "Oh, man, they're so cool and mysterious" way, although there's been some of that at times. It's just that everything is so tight-lipped and there's so much animosity across camps that I don't think we'll ever get straight answers to a lot of the questions we ask here. Kinda sucks. But I guess it's more interesting than if Axl had opened 2009 with, "Fuck y'all. I ain't releasing shit else," crushing all our hopes once and for all.
