Guest Len B'stard
No, he was framed for it. And made out to be a member of a terrorist organisation for an IRA bombing in Guilford, his father, his Aunt Annie, his friends Paul Hill, Paddy Armstrong and Carole Richardson were also stitched up, his Dad died in prison there, even the actual bombers were arrested, it was confessed to, the whole 9 yet they still weren't released until a very lucky happenstance involving a famous civil rights type lawyer called Gareth Pierce got them freed. The man was abused, tortured, beaten, considered a pariah across the world, he spent 5 years in solitary confinement (on and off that is, longest consecutive stretch like that was 10 months) and generally put upon. Totalled i think 15 years he was banged up.It was a huge international incident in the mid 70s right up until their release in 1989, he was a hero, a man of substance and fortitude and a true champion of the people, during his incarceration and most especially because of his work after, whether he believed that of himself or not.So yeah, God bless you Gerry Conlon, wherever you may be. Snake-Pit
He was a patsy and the justice system in the UK should have compensated him for wrongful arrest.

Money cannot heal years of malnutrition, and profound psychological trauma. His life was destroyed, and there is nothing you can offer as compensation for that.
