Destiny
Woke myself up from a dream with my mom in it. I was crying both in the dream and in bed. IT kinda set the somber mood for the rest of the day. Though the brightside being it's getting me back into journaling my thoughts out again, something I've been neglecting a lot lately. Hours ago I was mindlessly flipping channels and landed on MTV classic and the GnR music video for Live and Let Die was playing, which gave me a mood boost and reminded me that this site still exists!! 1

Wow! 😳 I'm sorry for the loss of your Mom(It seems she must have passed judging by you crying in both the dream and in the real world. The loss of a Mother is only the SECOND most horrible feeling in the world. 😫The most horrible feeling in the world is the loss of a child/children. 😫

It's been odd, the whole grieving and getting used to the emptiness left behind. It's definitely changed me as a person and made me more sympathetic towards others.

Gibson87
Kind of shitty, ngl. I was scheduled 11PM-3AM last night (I work security at a casino) and had to come back in at noon for a 4 HOUR TRAINING on how to tell if someone is intoxicated, despite already doing a 30 minute training on the same topic a couple of weeks ago. I woke up at 11:55 and was 30 minutes late. Then I went to the gym, dropped my water bottle and my expensive over-ear headphones broke so I had to workout with no music. I ate a couple of gummies a little while ago so I'm feeling alright now but damn, it's been a day. There's always tomorrow Edited July 17 by Gibson87 2
rocknroll41
Would it be appropriate for me to use this thread to share some blog posts I’ve been writing lately about the things I’ve been doing to work through my own mental trauma? Or should I just start a new thread for that? EDIT: screw it, I’ll just share them here: https://henrynsilva.blogspot.com/2024/06/my-new-take-on-journaling.html?m=1 https://henrynsilva.blogspot.com/2024/08/specific-tips-for-journaling.html?m=1 Edited August 4 by rocknroll41

Gracii Guns
Can I talk about something which really winds me up? I have twins and I know I’m very lucky. But I know first hand how hard it is too. I get approached almost every day I’m outside with them by older women. And I get comments such as “double trouble!”, “I could never do what you do” or “I had two babies a year apart once, that’s like twins”, or (my favourite) “if I had twins I would just DIE!” These people stop me from doing what l’m doing to say something dumb or tell me how awful my life must be. Intelligent people wouldn’t say that to any other stranger. The only comparison I can think of is a famous celebrity being approached by fans, but that comes with the territory of being in entertainment, and the millions in the bank account must soften the stress. We’re living off one salary and wish we weren’t. Rant over. I’m content with my lot but don’t need the attention. Thanks for reading.

ZoSoRose
Not great. Had a tough conversation directed at me regarding my bad spending habits. They are right. Hopefully I can turn it around.
Popular Post Gibson87
Going great so far! I'm pulling myself out of a several month long depression and I've gone to the gym 3 days in a row now. It's not much but you gotta take the wins where you can get em! Chris1989
I'm feeling really down today. I haven't been exercising regularly since 2023 due to the divorce, house move, childcare etc. Right now I need to clean and paint my garage before I can get my bike and weights equipment back, but I have an exam on Tuesday for a course I've hated in recent months and haven't wanted to do for 6 months. Basically no time for me. Only time for my job, my house and my daughter. I'm 236lbs when two years ago I was 200lbs. I'm an absolute fat mess right now and my "comebacks" only last a few days at best. I'm just mentally and physically drained.

Don't put pressure on yourself to get things done fast. Your mental health is the most important thing, when that improves your physical health will follow.

Busy schedules always make it harder, especially when you have little heads to look after. Baby steps to begin with will help steer you in the right direction. It's not all exercise, diet is the most important and making sure you're fueling yourself correctly. Do you track steps? If not, start with that. If you're not overly active, you can set yourself goals on what to hit and then once the house is back to how you want it, getting an additional hour on the weights and or bike will do you the world of good. Health is wealth and I hope you're giving yourself a pat on the back for being able to run a house and raise a daughter too - not many are able to - by the sounds of it you've had a hard few years, but once you get yourself in a good space mentally, the rest of it will all fall into place. As Lena Martell once said, One Day At A Time! Will look forward to hearing an update from you further down the line. You've got this.
