alaskagunner
I was just wondering if anyone knows what happened to mike patton.. there lead singer for the album "the real thing". (there only good one in my opinion) read a bio about the band but it just tells you the 4000 members the band had and not where anyone landed. wasted
"Patton is the David Bowie of Metal." - Wasted.www.ipecac.com for Patton news.Records to get:California by Mr BungleDirector's Cut by FantomasMit Gas by Tomahawkerm, Faith No More's best album is by far Angel Dust. On The Real Thing the boat is still contolled by Billy Gould and Jim Martin is still paddling for Team Faith. Faith No More really took off musically after The Real Thing.FNM vital album trilogy:Angel DustKing for a day...Fool for a LifetimeAlbum of the YearAngel Dust is almost the best album of the 90s (ok Nevermind and Appetite are close but AD is way ahead in terms of reinventing rock music) and basically inspired all these losers in Nu Metal bands. Obviously Patton despises them cos they are so generic and FNM was always about being original at the very least. Where are they now?Mike "Puffy" Bordin - drummer for Korn, Ozzy - "He got his." - Patton. Billy Gould - Last I heard he sort of a had a label and was championing this new South American thrash band.Roddy Bottom - Had his own band - Star AD? Sounds like Star AD/grunge on King For a Day... Big Jim joined Corrosion of Conformity!!! Patton - first did some solo projects and hit a home run with Mr Bungle with California. Then it was Fantomas - First album based around italian comic strip anti hero. Songs all 1 minute long. Peaked with Director's Cut - death metal reworkings of classic horror movies - Cape Fear as well, Rosemary's baby etc. Another album just come out. Then somewhere in there Tomahawk - Slayer's Drummer, Guitarist from Jesus Lizard, Patton on Vocals - most FNM of all these side projects. Debut and Mit Gas kick ass!!!He also did an album with Dan the Automator and Damon Albarn called Music to make love to your old lady by. More like lounge musak, mixed with trip hop?Patton has his own label which carries Mondo Generator Nick Oliveria form QOTSA among others. Also, all the Melvins new stuff. seee www.Ipecac.com for more.Did you know Courtney Love once was lead singer of FNM?Their first singer was called Chuck Mosely and sang on debut and We Care Alot before Patton joined.Ever seen an out of control FNM take the piss out of GNR on their Everything's Ruined video????? wasted
Jim Martin (ex - Faith No More) He regularly hangs out, goes hunting with James Hetfield. Besides Hetfield singing on Jim's Milk & Blood album, they both were very close friends with Cliff Burton. That's how Jim met James. Martin also jams with Jason Newsted all the time. Probably just one of them rumours or a snide remark from Patton like "Where's Jim?" "Oh, don't worry about him, he probably went and joined Corrosion of Coformity."Jim Martin awakes from his creative nap, slowly & methodically he forms "The Behemoth." After several line-up changes Jim settles on Joe Cabral on drums and Brent Weeks on bass. I like Jim. His heroes are Superman and John Wayne. Somehow you have to respect that. wasted
http://jimmartin.tarantella.net/history.htmin some ways Patton sort of ground FNM into the floor like Axl did with GNR in pursuit of their own agendas. Like Patton just wanted to go more and more avant garde, Axl wanted to...I don't really know, sort of Nu Metal GNR with Epic piano ballads...sounds horrible...can't wait!!! wasted
I don't really know about his personality but FNM made some kick ass music. Patton seemed completely against being a rock star. Saw them at NEC he did an Axl run down across the stage and a scream pose, also did impression of Cobain knocking over an amp. Patton could have done stand up. He is a funny guy.
