JDRM Posted August 2, 2005 Posted August 2, 2005 (edited) for no reason what so ever.Lets all set a date + time when we all come on mygnrforum.com to try and break the old record.old record "Most users ever online was 246 on Apr 11 2005, 02:21 PM"whatcha think? Edited August 2, 2005 by JDRM Quote
JDRM Posted August 2, 2005 Author Posted August 2, 2005 we can do ANYTHING is we do it together Quote
New Rose Posted August 2, 2005 Posted August 2, 2005 No, we wont try to break that. Last time those 246 users were on when IRS got to the internet the forum went down, and it could happen again if even more users would come online. And besides, no one is supporting the idea. Quote
Axls Rocket Queen Posted August 2, 2005 Posted August 2, 2005 It'll be more special if it gets broken without us deliberately coming online just to try and break the record.Artificial. It would suck. Quote

It would suck.<{POST_SNAPBACK}>Exactly . Is like one special ocasion , a big party Plus the forum can go down, administrator has been doing one effort to keep this forum working well as usual, let's not do something that can ruin that .I think administrator , will not like to hear this idea Quote
New Rose Posted August 2, 2005 Posted August 2, 2005 Last time those 246 users were on when IRS got to the internet the forum went down,<{POST_SNAPBACK}>.... wa... long story please<{POST_SNAPBACK}>What? There is no long story, IRS leaked into the internet and those users were online. The forum could not handle so many users so it got reaaaaaallly slow, you couldnt browse the forum, and in the end it went completely down. Quote
Binge_And_Slash Posted August 2, 2005 Posted August 2, 2005 Wait for Chinese Democracy to be released, that'll probably get all 12,000 + members on. Quote

eRomano Posted August 3, 2005 Posted August 3, 2005 I think administrator , will not like to hear this idea <{POST_SNAPBACK}>It wouldn't really mean anything because it would be artificial. For those who worry (for the right reasons I might add) about the Forum comming to a crawl when we reach 246 members online again:Well we are now running a more recent version of the Forum software (version 2.0.4 instead of version 1.3 at the time). This version is more robust and efficient for handling large amounts data for big Forums such as this one. But it could become slower yes. When the album is released, I plan to have taken steps for the Forum to run smoothly. Quote
Bromle Posted August 3, 2005 Posted August 3, 2005 Why can't we just wait untill a anouncement from GNR camp and then see what happens. Or a concert in the end of the year. "Bootleg heaven" Quote

The problem is you cant take a few steps before that because we dont know when its gonna be announced. Quote
Axl Rose Child Posted August 4, 2005 Posted August 4, 2005 When the album is released, I plan to have taken steps for the Forum to run smoothly. <{POST_SNAPBACK}>Excellent. I was wondering when you would say this. Quote
Gillian Posted August 4, 2005 Posted August 4, 2005 I remember the time before the "IRS icident" when we tried to break the record... that didn't go so well. There are so many different time zones that nothing could be organized properly. Quote
