I first heard this song on the film 'The Wonderboys' (if you havent seen it, watch it; its a great movie with many bob dylan songs in its soundtrack) The song just fitted perfectly with the sequence it was played in, and i have loved it ever since

he was convicted of double murder but was actually innocent. He spent 19 years in jail i think. Lost his eye i believe because of it. Shame really.

I don't think anyone really knows for sure whether or not Rubin Carter was innocent or guilty. Dylan later stopped singing the song because he began to have doubts about Carter's innocence. Either way, an innocent man was imprisoned for nearly 20 years, or a double murderer is out on the loose. The courts messed up whether he was guilty or not.

I'd prefer to see Axl live too. Just so much energy about him.

I think buying a cd is a tie. Chinese Democracy is a special case. I'd trade in all my bob dylan music for that.

However Bob dylan is still a much better artist.
