Is all new music on the charts today crap?

I know it's popular to say that "all new music is shit" but do you really think it's all crap on the charts today? I've picked of some recent hits from charts around the world which I think is good music. Well, I guess it depends what you compare to and when you listen to it but still, it's not that bad. Do you agree?

Don't get me wrong, Gnr is still by far my fav band. B)

Kayne West ft. Jamie Foxx - Gold Digger is my favourite off that list. finally some good rap again!!

There's some decent new music out there, which i like, but i can't get into most of the new stuff.

I just bought a CD Compilation called "Modnight Moods - After hours chill out nirvana"... ok, the name's crap, but there are a lot of really cool old songs on it, by Marvin Gaye, Joe Cocker, Diana Ross, Jimmy Cliff, Gladys Knight...

really cool music. can't see any modern music which comes close to this.

Strawberry Fields Forever, possibly my favourite song by The Beatles, didn't hit #1.

Sultans Of Swing, a worldwide known song, hasn't, either.

Stairway To Heaven wasn't even a single.

The Sex Pistols never hit #1.

Guns N' Roses only made it to #1 once.

And many more occasions charts aren't very reliable..

People think it was better back in the 80s, true there was much more rock/metal but mainly the charts was full of techno/disco/synth-pop shit

the sex pistols never made number 1 cos they conveniently gave that spot to rod stewart, god save the queen sold more copies than maggie may, thats how acurate the charts are

There is nothing I really like out at the moment. Well, Oasis, but I count them as old-skool. Kasabian aren't too bad.

There needs to be a different style band to come along who will blow everybody away.
