No guitar, no drum solos

My favourites are

Your Latest Trick - Dire Straits [Trumpet Intro, Saxophone Outro]

Your Latest Trick [Live] - Dire Straits [sax solo]

Us And Them - Pink Floyd [sax Solo]

Money - Pink Floyd [sax Solo]

Patience - Guns N' Roses [Whistle Intro]

Monkey Man - The Rolling Stones [Piano Solo]

Shine On You Crazy Diamond - Pink Floyd [Keyboard Solo]

Great Gig In The Sky - Pink Floyd [Voice Solo]

Jump - Van Halen [Keyboard Solo]

Africa - Toto [Keyboard Solo (Sounds like a flute or something, but it was played on keyboard)]

I think I missed some

I'm a sucker for saxophones, I know

This may get interesting.

Freddie Mercury's singing to the crowd

<{POST_SNAPBACK}>

Ok Freddie was cool, but he stole the whole singing to the crowd thing from Ian Gillan.

Well, everything from Jon Lord, in particular Burn, Black Night and Highway Star solos but really his studio work in no way compares to the stuf he played Live.

Geddy Lee's Bass solos in YYZ and Driven.

John Entwistle's Bass solos, Live and in My Generation.

Every Bass solo from Les Claypool also fucken rocks.

Ian Gillan's harmonica solo in Lazy :P

And like Genesis said, anything from Rick Wakeman and in particular Kieth Emerson is bloody awesome really, very talented keyboardists.

Money - Pink Floyd [sax Solo]

<{POST_SNAPBACK}>

Spot on! B)

I also love the keyboard solo in Riders On The Storm (The Doors) by the way.

Love Sax stuff?

The sax solos on 21st Century Schizoid Man, One More Red Nightmare and Ladies of the Road by King Crimson are brilliant.

Light My Fire- The Doors- Ray Manzerek's keyboard solo.

Us and Them- Pink Floyd- Rick Wright's piano solo

Set the Controls for the Heart of the Sun- Pink Floyd (On Waters' solo DVD entitled "In the Flesh")- Sax solo

Now, of course I have a lot more in non-rock songs, but for now, I'll keep it like this.
