List 'em. ;)

One of mine is Cash's version of "Hurt."

Tom Waits' "Ruby's Arms" is sad too.

And I think the final minute of "TWAT" and the last few minutes of "Estranged" are both sad.

I'm going to add more as I think of them.

Long Long Way to Go - Def Leppard (WAY underrated song, and I'm not a huge fan of the band)

Hurt-NINorJC

bother-stone sour

hollow/floods(solo)-PanterA

Comfortably numb (the whole song..but the solo mostly)-Pink floyd

i got a lend of the Stone Sour album with that song on it last week (really good) and that song actually cheers me up. its supposed to be depressing and all but it cheers me up

for me:

van diemans land - u2

one - u2

still got the blues - gary moore

hallelujah - rufus wainwright and jeff buckley versions

seasons in the sun - kurt cobain version on the box set dvd, thoroughly depressing

something i can never have - NIN

nightswimming - REM

emotionally powerful: the reason for these is they a few of the songs i would blast as loud as i can to make me feel good. so thats "emotionally powerful" for me.

vertigo - u2

stand - REM

fuel - metallica

gloria - van morrison/them

dont stop me now - queen

spanish bombs - the clash

nobody's hero - stiff little fingers

the rocker - thin lizzy

edit: forgot Sex Type Thing - stone temple pilots. listen to it everyday cause its my ringtone.

There is soooo many songs. But an artist that comes to mind that is consistent in making powerful songs is........................................................................"That Snaggle Tooth Female Folk Singer from Anchorage Alaska" with her album "Pieces of You". All the rest of her album's including her new one suck. Except for 1000 Miles Away. (The last song off her new album.")
