What did you think of the show?

Back home showered and nursing my bruises  Axl had to stop the show for a couple of minutes and tell the front to step back a bit and stop crushing after the second song - Its so easy. It didnt really stop until half way through the show and people ran out of energy and the slower songs started getting played

There was no Baz but he was on the other side of the world, Izzy was there for the last 5 songs in a no-surprises setlist. It was cool seeing him there but he looked a bit like a stuffed animal trophy jusy getting wheeled out by Axl for a special occasion. He done a few smiles & not much else, but that hasn't really changed and he looks almost the same as he did during UYI tour

Did anybody notice Tommy stinson has a facial expression that looks like he's just came in his pants whilst getting his cheeks sewn together or like he's sucking really hard on a very sour sweet. I don't know how he managed to keep it up for the full show

Everyone was dripping with sweat and i noticed when Axl stood up to sing on top of the Piano he had a very dark patch on his Blue jeans right around the crotch. I'm hoping that was sweat

I personally thought the show was awsome, plus Axl's voice sounded a lot better than it has on previous occasions, i thoroughly enjoyed the new songs, especially Better and Madagascar, November Rain was probably the highlight of the show, and i wasnt bothered at all that they came on at 10 and finished at 12:30, just added more to the effect i thought, although this may have dissapointed many others who hoped to catch a bus or train or whatever. on the matter of guest bands, i only found out on the day that Towers Of London were playing, so that was a nice surprize and Bullet For My Valentine were also very good (although they dont suit playing big stages, they were better when i saw them at the Carling Academy in January). Overall it was an amazing show and i think everyone else who was there will agree with me (aint that right Graeme) ;)

Walked into men toilet and lit up, easy as that, i did get in a fight with a rock steady dude, i was about to make my way out when they came out to do a bow and the guy started telling me to leave so i told him to fuck off and things got heated, he waved some big bastard monster to help escort me out, i told that big fucker i payed to see the full show and wasn't leaving untill it was over, they started grabbing and pushing me but GOAB is not small so i pushed back and just as they left the stage for last time i was like fine ill leave now you hooray for tolerance!s, trying to move me, ha ha ha.

For me, that put a right pisser on the start of what was an amazing show. I was in the second row and couldn't believe the behaviour of a fair few individuals. Don't get me wrong me - you go to a gig like this and you expect a lot of pushing, throwing of arms etc - but this was just pathetic. At one point I did have visions of another Donnington, it was so bad. Security were fucking unreal. They just fucking stood there while people dropped like flies - and that's NO exaggeration. It wasn't until people started getting really verbal towards them that they started lifting people from the crowd. So - many thanks to the fuckwits that put a downer on the start of a great night (and I'm not alone in thinking this either - this was the general consensus of many people I spoke to last night!

There was no Baz but he was on the other side of the world, Izzy was there for the last 5 songs in a no-surprises setlist. A stuffed animal trophy? I think that's a bit much - but it is your opinion! I think he added a certain something to the night. A shit load of people didn't realise he was going to be there so it was great seeing everyone going mad for him.

Everyone was dripping with sweat and i noticed when Axl stood up to sing on top of the Piano he had a very dark patch on his Blue jeans right around the crotch. I'm hoping that was sweat

Can't say I noticed - but I'll inspect my photos very closely when I get them on the PC! :P

Overall it was a fucking amazing performance from Axl and crew! Axl was strutting around as though he was 20 years younger! Christ, I wish I had half his energy! Lol! His voice was on top form (not sure mine is today, though! :P) though I'm sure it would have sounded even better had the sound been better in the SECC. The sound was seriously bad in places - but that's the norm for that particular venue. I've been to a lot of gigs in there and the sound is always the same!

Having seen both this line up and the original Gn'R, has my opinion of them changed? Well the answer to that is a resounding NO!!! They are as fantastic as they have ever been - but in a different way! I can't wait until tomorrow in Manchester now!

My opinion of what I'm sure is a minority of so-called fans, has changed though. They showed a lack of resepct to both the band and fellow concert goers. Most of use know all about Donnington and these fuckwits were damned close to casuing another. Here's hoping we don't get the same kinda idiots at tomorrow's gig.

Oh and for those that are bound to call me a woose and a moaning minnie - well go ahead! I'm too bloody sore to care today (hell it was worth it though!)...and just off to nurse the cuts and bruises on me feet! I guess that's what happens when you lose your shoes...ahem.....

Go suck your mommys cock you little pubic crab571.gif

it was simply awesome

Thanks for the awesome input :monkey:

and you have made it sound shit.

I pointed out the some of first things i noticed, The fact Izzy never showed much emotion whilst playing and the faces Tommy kept pulling made me smile were two of them. They did not make it a "shit" show. Sorry if all you read were negatives but I'll be first in the queue for the album and tickets for the next Scottish show whenever either come around.

Axl was in a really happy mood and it really looked like he was giving his everything running and jumping around the stage. His voice sounded great on every song with no vocal or microphone screw-ups. Seeing him close up made him look a lot younger than a lot of the recent pictures of him do, especially after he took his sunglasses off. He reacted very well to the crowd. I would have liked a bit more talking from him instead of the guitar & piano solos because as soon as he started talking everyone would be shouting Axl! Axl! Axl! and it was hard to hear what he was saying but they all kept quiet for the solos.

The fans seemed okay as far as i'd seen apart from a slightly drunken guy before GNR started who was talking loudly about someones VR T-shirt saying they were the "real band". There was also a bit of a dickhead who shouted comments about Finck being a "Slash impersonator - go home!" during his solo. But that only spoiled the show 0.01% for me. Maybe the rest of the people there who weren't really big fans judged the mood correctly and decided to keep their mouths shut in case they got beat up

I had the misfortune of having a complete fuckwit beside me. He was so pissed (and a lot more besides, I don't doubt) that he was gonna cause an accident - and that was BEFORE Gn'R even came on!!! He was actually told to tone it down on several occasions but ignored the polite requests from security. He ended up shouting his mouth off for the band to come on, then when they did - he fucked off!!!! TWAT!!!

I didn't hear any comments such as though you mentioned though I did see one guy in the queue with a VR T-Shirt on. Have to admit, it did amuse me somewhat!!

My big grievence is with a MINORITY of fans, as I've aready said. The behaviour of these idiots really did spoil it for a large chunk of the audience. Perhaps they weren't big fans, perhaps they just didn't give a toss - it doesn't really matter. It's over and done with now.

I've been a Gn'R fan for just about 20 years (fuck me! I'm feeling old now!), and having been to a few Gn'R gigs, I've never seen anything like I witnessed last night. It won't stop me going again - fuck, nothing could do that! I just feel that the tossers involved could have shown a bit more respect to the band and others around them. I'm sure Axl would have preferred not to have had to try and calm everyone down, and get 'em to move back. He's there to perform, not babysit his fans.

Anyway, it's just my personal opinion - some will agree, others won't! 'Tis the joys of a public forum! :P

That was fuckin mind blowing, man I haven't rocked this hard in years...

There was a point I thought 'Oh god not another donington' when small % of fudwits started boing because they held back coming on, thankfully they only proved they weren't proper fans & didn't spoil the magnificent performance rock1

I took some photo's & some of them turned out really well, showing Axl looking fit & really into his performance with alot of heart n' soul...

Highlights included Axl raping a Scottish saltire around him for a moment (bugger of a camera was to slow to get a pic) November rain was bloody awesome, seeing Izzy on stage...infact too many brilliant moments to mention them all ^ ^

i might annoy people but i really didnt like the gig i thought the first half hour or so was kick ass after that i got bit bored with all the solo's and i hate the secc anyway i was very nearly at the front of the gig.

near the end before they went off stage for encore i was amazed to see the place empty people were leaving by the bucketload i was in toilet during this time and it was packed of people saying how shit the gig was etc etc

i know everyone is like its axl ir guns n roses being late is expected but thats utter shit there was loads of people who missed there fav band because there trains are at 11 when they should be finishing around 11 like every other band that plays there. i dunno for first time ( ive seen this guns n roses band 4 times now) it sorta hit me that this is wrong at one point we had 4 people playing guitar and i just dont understand it.

i have always argued with people who say this isnt Guns n Roses and im like i know its not but just fucking enjoy it for what it is and have a good time man but something hit me last night and it just felt wrong to be chanting Guns n Roses when 4 other guys who made it happen and play all those songs werent there and to top it all off axl decided im just not going to go on stage untill im ready 2 hours late its not right

axl needs his fans to buy this album by the millions cos if it flops then it pretty much the end and he will become the biggest joke in music if this album isnt a hit and so he needs his fans and yet he keeps treating people like shit and coming on 2 hours late meaning people cant see there shows cos they need to get home its not cool at all and i wasnt the only one getting pissed off with the wait last night as the boooing showed
