frankwhite
This is living proof right here that Pot smoking does not lead to harder drugs...he's Paul, he's God, he can do what he likes, this is in no way a critical post in case ur expectin an anti-consummerist diatribe..McCartney Signed to New Starbucks LabelMar 21, 2:39 PM ESTThe Associated PressSEATTLE -- Paul McCartney was introduced Wednesday as the first artist signed to Starbucks Corp.'s new record label. The former Beatle made an appearance via a video feed from London at the company's annual meeting. The world's largest specialty coffee retailer announced earlier this month that it was partnering with Concord Music Group to launch the Los Angeles-based Hear Music label. The McCartney announcement is another big step for Seattle-based Starbucks' attempts to spin part of its consumer appeal into the entertainment business. The coffeehouse chain already has produced and sold some albums, markets books, and helped develop a feature-length movie.Hear Music has been used as a brand on other releases developed for sale in Starbucks stores. The coffee giant also has a branded page on Apple Inc.'s iTunes digital music store, and a handful of hybrid music-and-coffee stores that allow customers to burn tracks to CDs.Concord, which controls several other labels, helped Starbucks sell the Grammy-winning "Genius Loves Company," an album of Ray Charles duets.http://music.msn.com/music/article.aspx?ne...00>1=7702

UYIllusion
Starbucks should stick to coffee.Paul gets too much credit for the Beatles and John not enough.
JONEZY
Paul may need the money, since the one-legged gold digger is taking him to the cleaners.

The only one I can think of that didn't totally suck, was live and let die.Um.. do you count the hit machine known as Wings? He has tons of great "non-beatles" hits and great songs. He deffinitely had the best post beatles career out of any of them.Honestly though, starbucks is just doing this to get some quick publicity. Its only a 1 album deal and he gets 100% of the credit and rights to the album, so they aren't getting anything but recognition from having him put out an album under their lable.(smart move by paul actually). Zint
As much as I love the Beatles,I gave up giving a shit about what Paul McCartney is doing a LOOOONG time ago.As repugnant a concept that is (signing with Starbucks) in regards to rock and roll....at this point in time,I really don't give a shit.So he puts out more subpar material on a new label....alrighty then.
