Best/Worst Stones album

Hey,

in your opinions what is the best Stones album and what is the worst?

Also...What are your opinions of the Stones post 1973 albums?

It's amazing how long they've gone on, and how the world has changed and how they've helped and inspired music. I mean, we talk about Guns and how great they are/were, which fuck yeah GN'R's amazing, that's why I'm here but well I mean...Guns put out really 4 real albums; 5 if you count Lies. Compare that to the Stones discography:

BRIAN JONES YEARS (EARLY DAYS)

England's Newest Hitmakers (1964)

The Rolling Stones, Now! (1965)

Out of Our Heads (1965)

December's Children (And Everybody's) (1965)

Aftermath (1966)

Between the Buttons (1967)

Flowers (1967)

Their Satanic Majesties Request (1967)

Beggar's Banquet (1968)

Let it Bleed (1969)

THE MICK TAYLOR YEARS (THE BIGGEST BAND IN THE WORLD)

Sticky Fingers (1971)

Exile on Main St. (1972)

Goats Head Soup (1973)

It's Only Rock N' Roll (1974)

THE RON WOOD YEARS (LATTER YEARS TO PRESENT)

Black and Blue (1976)

Some Girls (1978)

Emotional Rescue (1980)

Tattoo You (1981)

Undercover (1983)

Dirty Work (1986)

Steel Wheels (1989)

Voodoo Lounge (1994)

Bridges to Babylon (1997)

A Bigger Bang (2005)

Best...a complete tie, Beggar's Banquet, Let It Bleed, Get Yer Ya Ya's Out, Sticky Fingers, Exile On Main Street.

One of the most creative four year runs by any band...Yeah, they did all those albums between 1968 and 1972, and toured the US in 1969 to boot...ever feel like some of todays bands just aren't that good?

Worst...Satanic Majesties, bad Sgt Pepper attempt, though it did lead to the period I just mentioned.

All of the post 1973 albums had moments, Some Girls was geat IMO, after Dirty Work the moments got fewer and further between.

Definitely the Mick Taylor stuff is the best. Overall I'd say it's a toss up between Exile and Sticky Fingers. I can't listen to much of the Ron Wood stuff, especially anything after 1980.

As far as the worst, I'd nominate the latest one, but they get worse and worse with each release.

I like "Out of our Heads" and "Exile on Main Street" a lot. I also liked Let It Bleed. I didn't like Her Satanic Majesties, and I think that Dirty Work (and most of their other 80's records, with the exception of Tatoo You maybe) is one of the worst records ever.

Best - everything up to (and including) Some Girls

Worst: everything after Some Girls

You don't like Voodoo Lounge? It's quite good

Apart from it, everything after Some Girls really was quite bad.. Though I didn't really like Some Girls anyway

Their last album was pretty bad, but Rough Justice is one of their best songs ever IMO
