It was the second British invasion of pop that was manufactured by MTV.EDIT: I guess that I should add that MTV needed videos and American artists weren't producing them, so they had to rely on something; that something was British artists that were producing video.Think about it; the biggest act of the late 70s -early 80s was probably Bruce Springsteen and I don't think he made a video until 85 or so.
