Wu tang, cypress hill, public enemy, ICE T or ICE Cube would all be great fits and add something to the line up and show. However i dont think it would add much to ticket sales. It'd still be a majority older white crowd who would like this. A young black hip hop fan isn't going to go and check out gnr for $200.

I understand the argument people saying that motley sell to the same crowd, but when you have seen gnr already, it gives you more bang for your buck. So i don;t think you really need a crossover audience, you just need to give more incentive to your existing audience to turn up. Any big band that are slightly lesser than GnR in the standings would be great. When i saw GnR at Hyde park in 2023, a big sell was the darkness and the pretenders being on the bill. Ive seen GnR 17 times since 06. and axl is getting worse each time, so if you aren't giving me a brand new album played in full, you have to give me 1/2 other really big live acts to make it a must see.

To me Motley is really a bad fit and the reason is the well known vocal issues Vince has plus no mick mars (the only talented one live lol)

I can only imagine the media and backlash of a overpriced stadium tour with 2 struggling singers.

I haven't seen them, but I know people who have. If you like their music, their show is enjoyable. But 'pyro, big choruses and big hits' also applies to bands like Motley lol. Someone like Carrie is supposed to be a left-field choice, she's successful on her own and would bring a different audience, but there's also a connection.

I'd like to see them get 'weird' with the opening bands - Anderson .Paak & The Free Nationals, Yelawolf, Foxy Shazam, Jelly Roll, Stop Light Observations, Nathaniel Rateliff & The Night Sweats, there's tons of cool artists they could bring on tour. I've seen 6 shows since 2016 and Alice In Chains opened 4 of them... I like AIC but give me some variety lol.

They did mix it up earlier on with nitl.

I remember seeing skrillex for example.

Can't get over the song, I know it's a cover but I find it very refreshing how different it sounds and pull away from the traditional Slash sound/tone as well as Johnsons vocal performance. The licks, vocals and Steven harmonica mix well together.

I play the song on Amazon music and really like the booty twerking animation 🤣

Overall excited for the album. I'm not too familiar with blues but I keep playing Killing Floor and Black Betty (Metal Church cover) back to back.

This song instantly made me think of this Black Betty cover.

Your black betty cover made me go back to listening to Spiderbaits version lol

    1. The Pusher (feat. Chris Robinson)

    2. Crossroads (feat. Gary Clark Jr.)

    3. Hoochie Coochie Man (feat. Billy Gibbons)

    4. Oh Well (feat. Chris Stapleton)

    5. Key to the Highway (feat. Dorothy)

    6. Awful Dream (feat. Iggy Pop)

    7. Born Under a Bad Sign (feat. Paul Rodgers)

    8. Papa Was a Rolling Stone (feat. Demi Lovato)

    9. Killing Floor (feat. Brian Johnson)

    10. Living for the City (feat. Tash Neal)

    11. Stormy Day (feat. Beth Hart)

    12. Metal Chesnut

Good selection of tunes for a blues record, the standards pretty much.

Killing Floor tune with Brain was pretty good....My eyebrow raised a bit when I saw Demi Lovato is singing Papa was a Rolling Stone, gonna be interesting how that turned out.

Demi has recorded with Slash before (solo at 2:36). Im not a fan of her vocals tbh not sure if she can pull it off.

I hope he asked Axl to record at least a verse on one song 😂

If his lucky Axl will give him scraps of a 20+ year vocal to work with

How do we know his financial situation and did it get bad because of the pandemic and poor health, preventing touring...(his main income?)

It would be nice if Axl (and/or the band) could look after him a bit...opening act role even would be a nice gesture on the next tour...a strange one but that would be kinda cool?

From what I remember he was having heart problems.

I thought it was the other way around  but I did wonder where his primary residence is if not Malibu

I wondered that too, that's kind of weird since he's lived there for like ever

Im sure he lives with Beta. The neighbour probably has only interacted with her im guessing so assumes she owns the place.

Well actually the other possibility his moved in with his offender buddy Fernando.

That's all a matter of opinion. CD2 probably would of had similar production to the 2008 album if it was released on or prior to the reunion era.

Most of these new re-heated CD songs with NITL are mixed like garbage. I assumed that was the consensus to most fans here, at least those with an ear for that type of thing.

I wouldn't complain as much about the slow drip of singles if they were at least mixed and mastered well. It makes all the difference.

Who you kidding? CD releases production was garbage and the new production of leftover tracks are garbage.

Theres a reason people preferred the demos.

They need a proper mixer/engineer/producer for the tracks and to keep caram/axl away

If the band would release new music on a regular basis nobody would care about leaks.

GNR is the only band I have ever listened to the leaks... and I listen to a lot of music.

    This is true

I actually think we will get this in the next 5 years or so. Maybe a one off show, or a small tour in theatres or arenas. The only thing is it has to be just these on 5. No dizzy, no piano no 3rd guitarist etc. Give us 85-90 So I've tried to only pick songs from that era that steven would have a part in either demo, live or studio.

    Setlist

    1. Welcome to the Jungle
    2. It's So Easy
    3. Mr Brownstone
    4. Reckless Life
    5. Shadow Of Your Love
    6. Rocket Queen
    7. Out Ta Get Me
    8. Civil War
    9. Rocket Queen
    10. You're Crazy (Lies Version)
    11. My Michelle
    12. Think About You
    13. Nice Boys
    14. Anything Goes
    15. You Could Be Mine
    16. Slash Solo
    17. Sweet Child O' Mine
    18. KOHD
    19. Nightrain

         Encore

         20. Patience

         21. Don't Cry

         22. Paradise City

I left out a Duff or Izzy solo spot. I don't recall there being many in those early days, but if Axl wanted it broken up then I wouldn't mind seeing DTJ, Dust and Bones or 14 years added, or a duff punk cover. I also think there's room for Whole Lotta Rosie which that line up did (as well as others since) or heartbreak hotel, that would match the energy of that era, but whether 67 year old does it justice I dont know.

Why not just play AFD in full and call it a day.

This is what should have happened on the aniversary. Release the boxset (on time) and a short AFD reunion tour playing the full album to support it.

Speaking of a band firing their Front man, Kajagoogoo fired their Front man and quickly crashed and burned after having only one major hit when he was still the Front man.

Replacing a troubled front man can be beneficial too though.

Look at Iron Maiden who fired their singer Paul Dianno and replaced him with Bruce Dickinson and became more popular then ever.

Another one is ACDC who fired Dave Evans and replaced him with Bon Scott who they wrote and performed many of their classic hit songs with.

Pink Floyds original singer Syd Barrett fired and David Gilmore / Roger Walters took over.

Genesis after Peter Gabriel left we got Phil Collins step up as singer and they blew up.

Faith no more singer Chuck Mosely replaced by Mike Patton and the rest is history.
