Gibson87
Any singers on here? I've been working really hard the last couple years to develop my voice and I've made great strides with it. My biggest struggle at the moment is getting a really good tone quality out of my chest voice

soon
I used to sing leads, wasn't a great talent though. Phrasing, inflection and attitude were my marketable skills. It worked for what I was applying it too, but I never gave it the attention it deserved. I really respect people who work hard on training and maintaining their voice. Lots of discipline, not to mention vulnerability, involved for people taking it seriously.

AxlisOld
Number fucking 1: learn your body. You'll find your limits. Once you do, figure out how to stretch that. Your voice is just like any other muscle. Work it out, stretch it a little beyond what you think it can do, and eventually you'll extend your range. Take note of where in your throat you feel it when you hit different notes. From there, you can learn to isolate that particular part, and once you find that voice, you should discover almost an entire new range of voice. Don't push it too hard, too fast, or you'll blow your voice and chords.
