  1. People talk about there not being enough time to promote the album, but with the musical world expanding upon what Slash has said twice is it not the case surely that this album is already being promoted.

This cd is without a doubt one of the most eagerly anticipated records in rock history (and yes the rest of the music world is aware of it and its significance). For this reason I am certain that it will not be promoted in the usual manner purely because a large marketing campaign is not needed.

For me the crux of this matter is Slash's comments. For me he is either talking with concrete knowledge of what is going to happen (and therefore having a hand in promotion), and the reasons for this knowledge we can only speculate, or he is simply greasing the wheels or prompting Axl to finally release the record.

Either way I really think we haven't long to wait. Too much shit is happening for there not to be a release now.

  2. Hey guys and gals! I'm new here to the forum but a long time fan of GN'R like everyone. Here is what I've been thinking.

I believe that Slash knows the right people to know if 'the powers that be' have heard a completed album. What I find hard to believe is that it would be out in March? I mean, it's been my experience that when a new album is going to be released there is a lot press and marketing blitz done, especially if it's something as big as this. It seems more likely that the announcement would come in March and the release two or three months later. Most of the time, the first 'single' gets sent out to the radio stations for airplay for a couple of months before the release.

The other thing is I didn't know if anyone has tried to contact club STEREO in New York? I would think they could put to rest once and for all if Axl was there and he did in fact play a completed album? I would think they would want to boast and brag about this, if it was true?

Just my thoughts but I can't wait for its release, whenever it happens!

    Peace out!

Anyone else think this post is a little odd? You know in that kind of "I want to distract you from the truth but am unable to do it in a subtle manner" kind of way.

Shit I've smoked too much shit. (or have I??!!)

  3. Budweiser, thanks for replying to my original question! And thanks for your candid comments. I believe erverything you say and look forward to more info once you've had a good chat with your pal.

*wishes for a pal who had served Axl to a Stella*

  4. For fucks sake how many more of these 'sightings' are we going to see, and what's more how do we distinguish the truth from the BS?? Aaaawww fuck it.

If you said me 6 months ago "Axl has sung a song about snow and played CD in a bar", I would say BS :fuckyou:

fair play, but I worry that we're going to see BS get thrust in our faces which makes it hard to believe anything. F's sake we're so starved of info it's easy to see why people would want to make shit up.

For the record my jury's still out on this particular rumour.

Can we get confirmation whether Ax left NYC before the snow or not?

  5. For fucks sake how many more of these 'sightings' are we going to see, and what's more how do we distinguish the truth from the BS?? Aaaawww fuck it.

ps. Hey Budweiser if you're so certain Axl left NYC on Saturday, could you give us some moe details regarding that call you made to Beta?? *holds hands together in expectation*

  6. It may have happened. Remember that most people are not fanatics like us on this web site. So they might not have been scrambling for their recorders, etc. LOL. It was probably not as big a deal to them esp if they have celebrities in there on other occasions.

IMO if someone told this board a month ago that Axl would be making public appearances and would pose for commercial photogoraphers, 99% of people on here would not have believed that either. Just don't discount everything. Things gotta happen sometime.

Spot on, my friend. We as Gnr fans will inevitably get carried away with it and I hope that we get more details to confirm substance asap.

That said, if Axl & co used Chidem as a 'bargaining chip' to gain entry and useage of the club then surely its owners and others would realise the significance of this event??

  7. you know what? I think that this sounds so bizarre that it could just be the kind of crazy fuckin shit that happens prior to a release. I do hope it's true because it would be a good fuckin sign.

and what's more, I can't see that someone would make this shit up

  8. It's inevitable that people will comment on Ax's appearance, but really, isn't it really the music that we all care so much about?? I mean, come on, surely these recent sightings have to be the most positive signs that us gnr fans have seen for years now.

Who gives a fuck what shirt he's weaing!!

You know what? I can see that fucker singing 'The Blues' live again and the world being amazed...

In the mean time, a studio version would be nice, Ax!

  9. Great interview Madagascar.

(but guys, don't give up because from talking to him over the weekend- there's one thing coming up that gives me reason to believe that the staging for the release is underway)

Would obviously love to know what this is, can you elaborate a bit more??

  10. The question he was asked was obviously about CD because the next line in the article is, "The notoriously reclusive rocker is of course referring to Guns n' Roses' decade-in-the-making Chinese Democracy." The person who wrote the article was the person who asked the question that garnered the "People will hear music this year" response. So they should know what the comment was in reference to.

Agreed, but you can't deny that in Axl's response there is a level of qualification. The words he uses are deliberately chosen, IMO, to be ambiguous. Axl could have said ..."yeah the record will be out by the end of the year".. but he purposefully chose words which suggest otherwise to me. Yes we will hopefully hear new music, but a release of Chidem?? Doubt it.

bla bla bla what a fucking asshole!!!

he has been saying that for 5 years, werent he? its always the same with this bastard <_<

he promise the whole world will be shaken, and then your hear in the radios thousands of shitty songs ike silkworms, with only up to 2 nice song- this time madagascar & the blues.

why are you people thinkin about hope and stuff when every year he is letting you down over again. personally im sick of that shit. i didnt believe him back in 2001, and nothing changed since then.

I can't believe someone would visit a Gnr FAN forum, make over 170 posts and come out with shit like this. Really.

ps. thanks Axl for putting me and thousands of others out of their misery by making a statement! Cheers fella

  11. According to Korn's Press Officer, Kristine Ashton, a writer from Rolling Stone magazine spoke to Axl Rose on Friday 13th, the day of Korn's tour launch party. So keep an eye out for possible GN'R news in a future edition of Rolling Stone magazine.

Sanctuary yesterday quashed a similar rumour stating that Axl and Zack De La Rocha were to be formally interviewed and photographed in Febraury by the same magazine.

let's hope this could mean news or at the least an update!! time will tell..
