  1. Like it or not this is the most exciting thing to happen here in ages... I respect that msl can't leak things, but the very fact that we have almost official confirmation of the existence of things in circulation is a good thing no?

Not really. We have confirmation that there are loads of completed songs out there but we haven't heard them anymore than we've heard this stuff so it makes no difference.

Only in terms of titles and working titles via Axl and the band. We speculate they exist bit to my knowledge this is the first legitimate (sans the checkmate incident) claim of being in possession of actual material, even if it is only remixes and a tommy song.
Huh? Numerous band members have talked about original unreleased songs. Why would you rather trust MSL than band members?

I mean In terms of material being circulated outside f the band. We all know there are hundreds of pieces of songs in Axls vault and that there are probably at least another albums worth of finished songs within the band, but outside of the band this is surely the closest we've come since the good old leaking days to having certainty over our potential to acquire music?

I'm not sayin more dont exist, but most of that is based on conjecture not fact, I.e the mods were sent snippets to prove the case. As I said I believe there is more, as skewerl (sp?) claims there are at least 10 out there. But I digress...

I believe that at some point sooner or later something will leak, just because it seems impossible for it not to. I don't think MSL will be the one to do it, but someone will... It only takes one guy!

  4. I don't know if Neil would be able to convince him to release more music. I think, at least in Neil's interviews, he is an artist who prizes the artist above te fans to some degree, I.e he is fairly open about himself doing the music he wants how he wants when he wants etc. Around the time of Kurt Cobains suicide, Neil tried reaching out to him to tell him to "drop his shit" and do things his way. I would imagine if Axl spoke to Neil, he would say something similar... But hey, I know neither of ten personally so who knows :)

  5. I didn't like day and age too much... I though spaceman and dustland fairy tale we're nice tracks, but in terms of its consistency as an album I thought it paled in comparison to the first 2 (hot fuss and sams town). Hot fuss may have the edge in terms of an album ( even tracks like on top and Andy you're a star are awesome) but I might prefer sams town.. Great songs on there; when you were young, read my mind, uncle johnny, the river is wild etc... Very good band. Really excited for the new album, "battle born" :)

  6. I like dubstep :) However, I think dubstep and Guns is something that wont happen. I don't think it would be bad, but the KoRn thing is not a good comparison, since KoRn have always had weird mixes of genres, like the hip-hop style of the early stuff, the industrial tinge on See You On The Other Side etc. Guns, whilst having a multitude of influences, they (from what I gather) generally stem from the "rock" lineage (traditionally at least). Also, KoRn's heavy, "nu-metal" sound fuses well with the frantic "bro-step" sound that people like Skrillex have crafted, and so the actual musical fusion is a far better fit. I would quite enjoy hearing Axl give dubstep a go, and I'm sure he is aware of it, since in the chats he's always seemed pretty clued up on current musical trends, but I still feel this may be a bit too far for Guns to go.

  7. I actually enjoyed it. Just went as it was the only thing on at my cinema at the time I was there, so I thought why not. Spent most of the movie pissing around with my girlfriend, but whenever I did watch the film it was enjoyable. Say what you want about Tom Cruise, but he can actually be very funny, and he is in this film too. He is by far the best thing about the film. When he talks about the fire phoenix it is literally hilarious (his delivery coupled with the quasi-epic guitar instrumental in the background). So yeah, I rated it :)

  8. I for one personally love the '99 IRS... so much better than the studio, just has that something else. Oh My God is a great song as well... I would have loved to have had this in '99, but then I'm kind of happy we didn't as we got to hear BH lay down his stuff :)

  9. New album is amazing!

I really want to buy it, but worried I'll hate it. Loved the first two singles. What is the album more like as a whole; Sixteen Saltines of Love Interruption?

p.s. sorry for being off topic

  10. I think a remix album, if done correctly, could be very good for the band. For example, there are parts in the better gone remix, namely the heavy drum parts that made me think, "why haven't they done some EDM version of some of this?". I mean, take Better for example, would be very easy to make a very good dubstep version of it. Could be put into rotation at clubs and stuff. I might be in the minority on this board who like dubtep (to be honest, I'm not sure about all of your musical tastes :P ), but I think some dance-tinged remix album, or even a more hip-hop inspired remix album could be really awesome for the band, and for fans like myself who really enjoy EDM as well as classic rock/metal/glam etc.

    Peace!

  11. I love music, but the production side is something I've never really thought about. I did listen to Death Magnetic, and something did feel wrong, and upon reading reviews discovered all of this stuff. Neil Young is my favourite non-Beatles musician of all time, and so I always welcome hearing something from him :) I think it was in the same interview that he said he likes Mumford and Sons, which is also a win for me!!!

  12. Facebbok feed saying that "some of us are already in the big apple" in relation to the Compulsions show - seems like something may be happening very soon. I care not to speculate, but whatever is happening it seems that we will see some GNR action this year!
