  1. I can't believe I'm saying this, but I agree with MSL... Granted, we as a fanbase haven't seen any new music performed live since probably 2009 (The Asian tour), yet the casual American fans probably saw songs like Sorry and Shacklers performed live for the first time this tour. I do agree that 10 years of CD seems quite a long tour, however I think that world has now seen CD live. I don't wish to speculate as to what will happen next, because to be honest I don't think anyone on this board has a clue what's going on inside Axl or the band's mind. There are a lot of questions that we would like answers to (RNRHOF, the situation with BBF etc) but I guess as always, we just have to sit back, relax and try to enjoy the ride. Like it or not, the last few years have been some of the most interesting times for GNR. Since 2006 the band has either toured or released something every year; which to my mind is pretty awesome! We as a community have endured so much, and we will (broadly speaking) continue to do so; simply because we love this band, or are at least intrigued by them. There is a lot of hope that CDII (for lack of a better title) will drop, or be hinted at this year, and it seems plausible to suggest it may do so. But whatever happens, or doesn't happen this year, we will endure it together, like the bad asses we are!

  2. It's hard to say right now. The US brand of dubstep (brostep if you will) seems to be making quite a large impact on global charts, even if it's in subtle ways. I for one dig it, I love the energy and the melody in some of it, so it wouldn't piss me off :P Also, with Skrillex leading the way in the Grammy's it seems that Dubstep may be here to stay, all depends on this next year.

    Peace!

  3. Umm, I don't really regret any albums, but I kinda think I should have saved my money on Jane's Addiction's latest album... other than 3, maybe 4 songs I don't listen to it any more, which is a shame because I really dig those 3 songs ...

    Peace!

  4. I'm thoroughly enjoying this, not because of the GNR performance, hell, I'm not even watching it (instead I'm preparing for my NYE by having a few pre-drinks and cranking out deadmau5) but the reactions from all of you guys are awesome! I mean this in a nice way though. I'm not strictly pro Axl/anti-Axl/slashite etc etc. I just enjoy this forum more than anything now to be honest. I have always enjoyed CD (as well as anything they have ever done!) and will continue to support the band in any way I can. But I can honestly say that this year has been a bad one. I followed every concert last year, in awe of how good the band sounded. Everything was right in the GNR world. And now it's what it is today, which is a very sad state of affairs. As I sad, I'm still enjoying this though, cos only in this type of community can this type of thing exist. Happy New Year to everyone on the board (i know it's early for most of you on this board, but I won't have another chance as I'm on a mission to literally die tonight) and let's hope this next one is a good year!

    Peace!

    (p.s. everyone should listen to 4X4=12 by Deadmau5 :) )

  5. Warrior and Crazy, Stupid, Love were the best films I've seen in awhile.

I would agree with Warrior, however, the second half (i.e. the fighting half) kinda ruined it for me a little. Just my opinion....

  6. I go through phases where I get totally addicted to an album. Recently (as in since I've been in Hong Kong) I have been obsessed with:

KoRn - The Path of Totality

Red Hot Chilli Peppers - Stadium Arcadium

Skrillex - Scary Monsters and Nice Sprites

Mumford and Sons - Sigh No More

    Neil Young - Zuma

Crime of the Century - Supertramp

Social Distortion - Sex, Love and Rock N' Roll

I think that about does it... Had a brief Janes Addiction phase, but only really a few songs, same with I'm With You, but only really Ethiopia and Even You Brutus.

    Peace!

  7. Agreed on the Bro-step thing.

Listened to the album last night, purchased it today. I think if you like KoRn and electronic, chaotic music (essentially bro-step) then you'd enjoy it. I really enjoyed it, love the cheesy melodies, the chaos and the general energy that it brings. Same reasons I enjoy dnb, bro-step and general rave music.

Off topic: Anyone know if there are any decent clubs in Hong Kong? I'm an exchange student here and find the scene dead. Need either a dub club or some epic rave music.

    Peace!

  8. A lot of these responses surprise me... I saw Guns in London in 2006, and yes it was amazing, but I've been watching a lot of Old Guns live vids, and it just surprises me how much better they seem to sound "bac in the day"... I get the OP's point though, after seeing Paul Mcartney, nothing will ever beat it...

  9. Can you stop calling him William? Please? It's not his name.

    +1

William Axl Rose is his name. Watch last night's interview... W. Axl Rose. What does the W stand for? Wenseslao? Hell no! William... William Axl Rose. That is his name. So STFU.

    NO.

    Actually. NO.

The "W" doesn't stand for ANYTHING, legally. It's just W. And no one calls him "William".

    It's JUST W Axl Rose.

    And edit:

That's fucking hilarious. As if I'd have to watch last night's interview to know his name is W. Axl Rose.

I've been a fan for a long time, buddy. So "STFU".

    Seriously pwn3d man....

  10. I tried to bump the electro thread with some Skrillex love, but it did't happen. These tracks are pretty killer, interesting take on both nu-metal and dubstep (fan of both tbh). Really like the the little nuances in this song, more so than Get Up, can;t wait for the album now!

OT: Skrillex's EP is sick for fans of the more melodic Dub. I think they label it as like Dub meets progressive House meets techno - but I'm not really knowledgable on dance music, so maybe some guys on here would have a better idea.

    Peace!

  11. I'm only a causal JA fan, only really know their big singles and a couple of album tracks, but I really enjoyed that. It was quite different, I like the melody of the chorus with the grand background style. Awesome :)

  12. I know this an electro thread, but what does everybody think about dubstep on this forum? Personally I used to hate it, but after KoRn's collaboration with some producers (Skrillex for example) I've started to really enjoy it. I'm considering purchasing Skrillex's Scary Monsters and Nice Sprites album, but not too sure yet. Also Doctor P and Flux Pavillion have some pretty sick shit out there as well. And of course Deadmau5. Breakage has some pretty awesome remixes (Like Clare Maguire's Ain't Nobody (Breakage Remix)). Anyone have any more reccomendations? Sorry for all the questions and stuff, just wanna know what people think about it. Personally I love the energy dubstep has, something that a lot of mainstream music really lacks, very deep, very crazy at times, and it can be really melodic as well :)...
