  1. Oh I agree...I would be very surprised if the album is released this year. It wouldn't make too much sense from a business perspective. IT would have to come out before christmas, so that gives them a little less than 1.5 months to promote the most expensive album in history? Not going to happen. It doesn't work that way.

I really have to comment on this. First of all, this is not the most expensive album in history. That title goes to Michael Jackson's Invincible, which I believe took 21 million dollars to produce. The 13 million dollars alotted for the album also cover enough material for the next two possibly upcoming albums. So, if you view it in this way then the actual dollar figure for this album is actually around 4-5 million dollars (probably the latter).

If you don't see it like that then it can be said that Chinese Democracy is the most expensive album that has not yet been released.

PS: I still believe the album is coming out this year.

  2. Does anyone get the feeling that the only reaction we ever get from Axl, or anyone associated with him, is abuse and rants, if we even get a reaction at all? I've followed a lot of bands on the internet and I've never seen a group who was more indifferent to their hardcore following.

I realise they don't owe us anything. My parents don't owe me anything either, but that doesn't mean they throw me out on the street. It's not about debts or producers and consumers. It's about being a man and showing a little compassion towards people.

I post a lot here yes, but I also go to the shows, buy the merchandise and defend the band when i hear people badmouthing them. I felt really offended by what Del James said. Does this mean Axl prefers casual fans who just want to hear SCOM, to those people who have dedicated so much time to a band they love?

Umm.. When I saw them during the summer, Axl said (exact words) "We appreciate everyone coming here and you guys are fucking amazin! You're insane, it's awesome!" That doesn't sound like hate to me. Remember that without the Fans Axl could be back in L.A bumming around or worse, i think he feels some gratitude towards us. I also think that he occasionally gets frustrated with people reading too much into everything that goes on with the band. All we need to know, as far as he's concerned is that there is a tour going on and the album is coming this year. Some people have greater curiosity and are not satisfied with such things so they feel the need to speculate and along with good speculation comes negative speculation. Some of the things said in th enegative speculation could be very hurtful towards Individuals so this is to try and encourage it to stop. It most definitely will not entirely succeed as people are people (as a wise man by the name of Ron Thal once told me) and there's always going to be shit like this. As far as I'm concerned GnR is on tour, doing what they do best. I'm happy, so slate me for it if you must. ROCK THE FUCK ON MOTHERFUCKERS!

When I saw him at Inland Invasion he said something along the lines of - You downloading motherfuckers are the reason we have to be here playing tonight.

I felt like offering him a big apology on behalf of all the fans who listen to his music and buy his tickets. If I was near the front I would have given him a warm hug.

That was obviously sarcasm dude. I still don't understand why some people don't understand that particular quote very well. Listen - he has always said good things about the 'downloadign motherfuckers'. I'm also pretty damn sure that he wanted to play at Inland Invasion. If he didn't want to do it then he wouldn't have done it (this strongly applies to Axl). Therefore, that quote actually means:

"You fans are the reason we're playing here tonight"

I really don't need to be doing these sarcasm translations. You guys can really be sensitive about things sometimes. On the other hand, I really did not appreciate Del's comments that much. I sure hope that he isolated a certain group of fans when he said "get a life" and not just the whole damn bunch. To insult, as whole, one of the most loyal fanbases out there in the music business would just really be disconcerting.

  3. This song Madagascar I really don't like. Well...I think it's a good song...but for a band like Gn'R???? That is a fucking joke. If this song gets released on CD I think it will be the biggest joke of all. This song doesn't belong in a hard rock band.

Your narrow-minded bullshit has clouded your thoughts. Just listen to the music for what it is and not for what it is 'supposed' to be.

  4. Don't forget about Japan as well. Playing at the Tokyo Dome and Chiba Marine Stadium - those venues are huge. Tokyo Dome is somewhere around 35,000 and Chiba Marine is even more than that.

The Tokyo Dome has a capacity of 60,000 for concert settings.

  5. That´s not the point for me, i would be really dissapointed if this is the final version, guns and roses always had more proffesional songs,

Eh, you have heard UYIs right? Half the songs sound either unfinished or just the band jamming.

Hah, that's funny. Some people say that some of UYI's songs sound overproduced while you say that they sound like the band jamming (the opposite)....crazy.

I just think they were badly mixed. That's it.

Anyways, sorry for taking this outta topic.

  6. Contraband where that all sounded like it could be 1988, and that's not a shot ..

Common misconception. Contraband doesn't sound like it's 1988. It's actually got a very modern sound.

    :rofl-lol::lol::rofl-lol:

You know funeral, you certainly fit into that whole 'Axl fanboy' category. Your extreme bias just shows through like a penguin in hell...

  7. -3x LESS than we paid for Van Halen two years ago for better seats, as well as 3x LESS than what we paid for Aerosmith / Motley Crue earlier this summer.

-To be honest, who knows when these guys will tour again?

-Its not that far from home.

I gave my folks ALL of this, yet they still won't give in. I'll be 15 next Sunday, so I still can't just drive out there. What should I do?

You could go to the concert with an older friend who drives. ;)

  8. Finally some good music on the radio!

And I find it weird that people are thinking that it's a remastered version done by a fan. That just showes how fucked up GNR fans are.

Do people really think that Harley davidson would have used a fan made version on a nation wide commercial? Seriusly. Are there anyone out there that are dumb enought to belive that????

Ok, I'm only gonna say this one more time...

When people speak of the 'imsorry' remaster they're speaking of the supposed full studio version of Better that RedEurope (who has a history of posting fake leaks) posted here on mygnrforum yesterday. That 'leak' turned out to just be a remaster that a fan called 'imsorry' made months ago. That's what people think the DJs have and are mistaking for a full studio track.

This discussion is separate from the 'Harley Davidson Ad' thread.

I just wanted to make that clear. :monkey: Take care Bromle.

  9. That don't sound like the imsorry remaster :drevil:

That's because the DJ tinkered with it more and added effects apparently. It is definitely just the demo, though, and was sent to him by a forum member. That's where he got it from! The single hasn't been sent to any stations yet.

The guy who sent it to him actually spoke to me, and he definitely doesn't have a studio track or it would be all over the 'net by now.

You may be correct, may also just have been dulled down in the rip.Did the DJ that aired this say Single next week?

Naw, the DJ that said the single is coming next week was from another station. This guy was passing this off as an "exclusive" new song - obviously he knew it was just the demo, though, so he was kinda lying. Especially if he tinkered with it himself. I think the chorus was fooled around with, it sounded like there were more voices.

Umm, no. Both DJs were from WCCC The Rock. It could even be the same damn DJ.

    :o

  10. I was just listening to the WCCC (Hartford, CT) webcast (random I know), and right after they played the new Papa Roach single the DJ mentioned that Papa Roach would open for GN'R on their upcoming tour and that the station had the new Guns N' Roses song. He also said that they would play it all weekend long and that the song was part of the new Harley Davidson ad campaign. He also stated that there are rumors that Guns might play Connecticut. Supposedley they're gonna play it 'soon'.

Here's a link the the webcast:

  11. I love how most of you are willing to discredit it as garbage just because its from MCR and what they have done in the past, but if it was a band that you already loved that went into this new direction you'd be hailing it as godly material, you bastards make me fucking sick.

cureme, I already have my copy of it, and personally I love the hidden track on it.

hey man i didnt open the folder.

im not ruling out the probability of it being decent, i just find it very hard to believe.

You know, supersillyspacemonkey, ever since you first began posting here I couldn't help but ponder whether or not you were a caveman. I don't know man; your opinions and posts....they're total caveman jazz. Logic just isn't your think.

    Jmo.

  12. Okay, why would Harley Davidson use a fanmade remix of a song that has leaked and then call it exclusive to their commercial on their own website? That's false advertising, and HD isn't exactly new in the business.

Yeah, that is bullshit. they wouldn't do this without the GNR camps approval. And well. they would give them a fan made version.

I think people are talking about two versions. One that has been circulating the web as a fan made. And we now have this new one from HD. People are just confused about it.

As far as my knowlage there isn't a full new version of better out there. That sounds like the one on the comercial.

Hmmm dude, that's not what we're discussing here...

  13. where is jarmo when there is really a thread to close......

Has this been sent to Merck yet for confirmation (someone earlier said they were doing it)?

yea i email merck and he said you should go listening to more none gnr tunes of love and laughter and honey

:rofl-lol: for those who don't know, RedEurope has a history of posting fake leaks

The leak came from FROZEN'S FORUM for God's sake - the older one.:)

Yet another fake leak from the so called "Advanced Members Section".

When did they say it was a leak? When I got it from there it was made out pretty clearly that it was 'imsorry' who had remixed this track. You have a history with this issue RedEurope...

  14. Are you people fucking retarded? Seriously.

Hmm let's see, what makes more sense - HARLEY DAVIDSON using a studio version of "Better" that GnR is obviously legally allowing them to use, or using some remix of the demo that some dude on the internet made?

    Use your fuckin heads.

Hmm, well, if you had even read the thread then you would have known that this is not what is being discussed here. Someone uploaded a fan remaster (with drums added in) and thought that it was the final studio version. It's not.

Why don't you use your "fucking head".

  15. Axl isn't interested in fame, he just wants to put out a solid album. We've been waiting for years for this, its not like it needs heavy promotion.

I gotta disagree King Dick, I'm sure Axl cares about charts, but saying so wouldn't be very "rock n' roll". It needs heavy promotion, we've been waiting years for this and we don't need a FLOP.

Then you can go to a pop posers forum, cause rockers doesn't care about the stupid billboard (at least not as a primary thing).

There is a big diference between the musicians who make music with love and with no worries about the fame, and the musicians that are all in just for the money (like 50 cent) these ones are known as "fabricated-fuckers", "soulless-assholes" or "motherfucker-posers". I don't want to see Axl Rose on that group.

No, of course it's not Axl's primary objective, but yes I do think he cares about it. If you spent a decade making a record and saw it just die out in the Billboard charts when released are you telling me you wouldn't care? He's human for fuck's sake. I'm sure artistic merit is on the top of his mind, but knowing what Axl has said in the past, it seems that he does give a damn whether this album is a commercial success or not.

Besides, if this album fails then Axl's balls will fry under Universal Music Group's heat.

  16. maybe it won't be #1 it's first week (Jay Z) but if they really released it on the 21st as a surprise it would be a huge story and it would be #1 in its second week

it won't be #1 on the second week. it'll debut high and drop fast just like every modern aerosmith album. It's just the way things go.

The same exact things were said about the Greatest Hits album.

You know how that went. :o
