  1. I don't think deleting any mention of the Rolling Stone article from HTGTH is Jarmo's idea as he posted the original article in the news section a few hours ago and let the original thread grow substantially. What I do believe is that either Merck or someone affiliated with management saw that the article had 'leaked' and has since then told Jarmo to delete any mention of it.

Now, as Rolling Stone has posted the tidbit on their website I find it ridiculous for this to continue. Although, let me tell you this; someone's pulling some strings here.

  2. Then it would be Guns and "who"...

Best post of the week! I almost shat myself when I read that

The band's been "Who" and Roses since 1986 anyway.

    1985...

  3. It was funny when Conan called GandR "chubby McGoo and the dudes who aren't Slash."

I went to see Axl at MSG a few days later, and he cried about it. It was very sweet.

Hmm, Axl made a joke about it by passing out donuts to the audience in the name of Conan...How do you consider that 'crying' (I know you meant it in a whining sense)?

  4. Nah, I just don't jump on Axl's cock everytime he does anything (ie. releasing shitty songs).

Well, consider yourself in the minority. Apparently, genuinely appreciating an artist's song equates to jumping on his or her "cock".

Hmm, I guess most of the world out there really likes to jump on that "cock" eh!

    :)

  5. Better, along with all the other leaks and demos sucks monkey balls. I don't understand where people are getting the words 'great', classic', or even 'epic' from listening to these sad excuses of songs....

You must have the entire population of China shoved up your ass...

  6. You people realize that Guns N' Roses aren't the only ones who have ever sold out at the garden, right?

yes, VR did too! with 3 Guns on board!

What was the point of that? You know Funeral, you really have a bad habit of initiating VR vs. GN'R debates all over the place... <_<

  7. She kinda reminds me of the old axl.

    how? HOW??

    i must also ask HOW

    are ya gonna answer "illusions?"

Someone will refer to this image so I'll post it:

It's pretty awful that someone can compare these two. Axl should not be compared to her

For fuck's sake; they're just comparing their looks dude. Don't get too worried about it. Besides, Axl in the 80s did look like Avril Lavigne in some occassions. You can't deny it...

    Anyways, I picked 'Pop Princess'.

  8. I know its a cover, but Nice Boys.. Axls voice on Live like a suicide is so cool...

I dont like the production of Spaghetti Incident, but I would really love to hear Hair of the dog in a liveversion or in an appetite for destruction kind of way.

That song just starts the party. The original with Nazareth is also a killer.

"Now youre messing with a son of a bitch" Who else than Axl could sing these words more truthfull? That was really a great choice for a coversong.

I think Lies itself is an underrated album, much better than the Illusion albums. So much more true raw rocknroll power. Too much of Illusions are overproduced and Matt Sorum are trying to ruin it all with his oversized drums. I would love to hear Steven play those songs.

I know everyone is entitled to their own opinion, but I just couldn't disagree with you more.

First of all, the production on 'Spaghetti' is killer. The sound is fresh and clearer than on any other Guns N' Roses album. I'd say that they did an excellent job in efficiently mixing and mastering that record. If 'Appetite' had undergone the same treatment, in terms of production, that 'Spaghetti' did, then in my opinion I just think that the album's sound would've just 'aged' a lil' better. As much as I love Appetite, since it was mixed and mastered during early 1987, the sound tends to be more muffled and posseses less of an 'umph' in audiophile standards. While Appetite's sound is technically more raw than that of 'Spaghetti's, I actually enjoy the more modern sounding 'raw' quality that has endured with "The Spaghetti Incident?!".

Also, your opinion on Lies; how could songs like Nice Boys, Used To Love Her, Reckless Life, and Move to the City beat songs like Coma, Civil War, Estranged, and You Could Be Mine? I know it's your opinion, but I just find it difficult to agree with. The thing I dislike about the Illusions though is the production. Had they mixed and mastered those records in the same manner as 'Spaghetti' 2 years later then in my opinion I just think that the twin albums would've sounded so much better.

I guess we all have our differences...

  9. That is hilarious

hillarious that people get that picture instead of something from a live show

Well, i guess management should do its work....

    M.

I think it has nothing to do with management. I think it´s the journalist´s fault. You don´t have to be an expert or a detective to find any kind of accurate info on GNR/Axl. I know there´s plenty of crap all over the internet but one of the things a good journalist has to do is to do research and find as much info as possible and it´s pretty clear the guy who made that article didn´t do it.

There are plenty of pics of the 2006 tour over there but this guy decided to chose a fake pic when if you just go to google and type Axl Rose or GNR you can find a lot of recent pics of the band.

dude, it was some dinky little write-up in a local paper. do you think they're going to assign a whole investigative team to go find a current and flattering photo of axl? now, they're going to run the first thing they can find. sadly, that ali g picture isn't so unbelivable, considering how Axl changes his style pretty often and lately has been into the whole hip hop rock star pimp look.

But the thing is - there are numerous Axl photographs from 2006 that are way more easily available than this fake one (for example, the one Blender posted). I find it rather suspicious that they chose to include this fake pic when there's a larger amount of actual, real pics that are easier to obtain.

  10. Honestly, who really wants the NR intro to be the basis of a new song??? That's old, that's repetitive, that's uncreative, and def not Axl. He's got plenty of new melodies i'm sure, that will go great with his lyrics and he'll have another hit piano ballad. But no recycling of material... that just reaks of hip-hop. Stay original Axl.

    ...

  11. Well, what if the 1st single is a new song that hasn't been played live in 2006? They wouldn't be able to use tour footage for a song they've never played. Although, if the 1st single is a new song (to everyone - even the diehards), my guess is that they could play the song on the N. American tour and gather video footage from that.

Seeing a new Guns N' Roses video on TV or on the net would just feel surreal.
