Did you end up going to that show? For $29 I would've gone just to see Joan Jett. I'm not really a big fan of her but I saw her open for Aerosmith years ago and she was pretty good.

We went through this really long stretch of rain here, so we sat that show out. If the forecast was OK, we would went but it rained hard all afternoon, through the evening.

To celebrate their 50th Anniversary, Aerosmith are bringing one concert from each decade for free on their YouTube channel.

    The concerts are:

Live from the Summit, Houston, TX, 1977 (Draw the Line Tour) (released July 29)

Live from the Capital Centre, Landover, MD, 1989 (Pump Tour) (will release August 5)

Live from the Coca-Cola Star Lake Amphitheatre, Pittsburgh, PA, 1993 (Get a Grip Tour) (will release August 12)

Live from Comerica Park, Detroit, MI, 2003 (Rocksimus Maximus Tour) (will release August 19)

Live from Arena Ciudad de Mexico, Mexico City, 2016 (Rock ‘n’ Roll Rumble Tour) (will release August 26)

The first concert is already out and it's a great one, check it out:

Hey, Fernando: THIS is what I call fan service.

I just watched the Houston show. Absolutely fantastic. I can't wait to watch the Pump tour show. I happened to be at the Comerica Park show, so that'll be fun to re watch.

That's actually a really cool topic, GNR or not.

Michael Jackson would be in my top 5 too. Saw him on the Dangerous tour in 1992, front of stage, just two people in front of me and about 50.000 behind me lol. Unreal energy, best overall live performer I ever saw in person.

Best GNR show....they were all good and all different, but Nijmegen 2006 holds a special place in my heart as the atmosphere in that park was just magic and I got to see Izzy perform in person at least once in my life, plus one of my fav bands (Alice In Chains) was opening for them that night.

I know I said this in the video, but I always wanted to see MJ at least once more. I'm really glad I got to see the tour I saw though.

A Top 5 is very hard to pick Russ, yours is pretty cool. Can you give us a list of your worthy mentions or near misses! Preferably a top 20

Mine Today are (could be different tomorrow)

    Guns N Roses - UYI Tour 92

Alice In Chains - Dirt Tour 93

    Nirvana - Nevermind Tour 92

Rolling Stones - Voodoo Lounge Tour 95

The Jesus Lizard - Shot Tour 96

Black Sabbath - European Tour 99 (club show Astoria London)

The Ramones - Adios Amigos 96

The Sex Pistols - Filthy Lucre Tour 96

Oasis - Definitely Maybe/Morning Glory tours 95-96. (I saw them 4 times  over both tours)

Shane MacGowan - Solo in an actual shed in the middle of rural Ireland on the summer solstice back in the 90s

There’s five great gigs I’m leaving out for every one I put in.

Thanks for watching and oh jeez, I'll do my best to throw some other amazing shows I've seen out there. These are just some off the top of my head:

    U2 - Pontiac Silverdome, 1992

Prince - the other 3 times I saw him

Black Crowes - all 20+ times I saw them

    GN'R - Hammerstein 2006, first show

Tesla - private acoustic show, Detroit, 2002

Depeche Mode - 1994, Songs of Faith and Devotion tour

The Lone Bellow - coming up on 20 shows now, but the first was absolutel magic

    Ozzy - 1991

    Nirvana - In Utero tour

    Simon & Garfunkel - 1998, I think?

Page / Plant - both tours

Garth Brooks - Detroit several times, Las Vegas intimate show

Jack White - Fox Theater & Masonic Temple shows, same week

.....the list goes on. I know there's not a lot of details on each of them here, but I did a lot of prep for the ones in the video and these are just off the top of my head.

It was some buzz my man. Jim is a legend in the Scottish Folk scene and gave Bob Dylan the opportunity to perform in a London Folk club back in the early 60’s. While not a chanter himself, he’s written a vast amount of songs that have featured heavily in the Scottish folk scene from the 60’s and beyond, to eventually having his own Record Label.

I’d found out that his wife passed away last year to cancer and he sent me up a CD of 3 songs he wrote in memory of her and holy fuck, it tugs on the auld metaphorical strings!! An 84 year old man doing what he done best to help with the grieving process. It’s quite incredible.

The tape, I’ve just sent away to hopefully get digitized, after that, I’m going to get it framed. It’s fucking nuts to say that, but with the time I’ve invested and The Doc being a huge part of my Grandad’s life, it’s the perfect opportunity to celebrate the two of them together. Right in the feels!!!

I don't have much to add other than the fact that I fucking love this. Very happy for you!

    Dear Dean,

It’s my pleasure to gift you this master tape of John Doc’s first L.P. which I produced and recorded.

I was sad to hear of his passing but his wonderful voice can still be heard by future generations, preserved forever on this recording for which you are now the deserving guardian.

    Kind Regards,
    Jim McLean

Thanks. I loved the fact that it touched on the drugs and the fact that he wanted to tour abroad, but that was troublesome for the colonial.

Rumor has it, Baz made an extended cut of 4 hours and has the crazy stuff like his journey to the white house and the k-razy drug stuff.

I saw an interview with Baz the other day about that. He said that yes, a lot more footage was shot but he doesn't have any plans to assemble it as an extended cut.

He did say that he could see changing his mind eventually but it would be a few years until if / when he does it.

I'm good with that honestly. I like the movie we got. I plan to watch it more than a few times once it comes to HBO Max in the first week of August.

Then there's the new Netflix animated Elvis series coming too. So there's going to be plenty of Elvis stuff going in for a bit until Baz feels like doing the extended cut.

Loved it. How true was it?

As a big Elvis fan who's done a lot of research on him, I'd call it "true-ish" 😂

I went into the movie VERY cautiously optimistic and ended up loving it.

They did the usual biopic thing where they jumbled some things together and messed around with the time line here and there BUT none of it was egregious, at least in my opinion.

There were a lot of highlights not the least of which was Austin Butlers overall performance. A huge highlight for me personally was the use of the CBS Special. It really hammered the previous scene home when he talks to Priscilla for the last time.
