I'm thinkin of buying one, what are they like to play? Epiphone ofcourse. I know they're top heavy like, but tone wise and shit? Plus they look cool as fuck. Any other recommendations?

Personally, i'd say the Crue. Even though i was far to wasted to remember, Motley Crue were a lot better in Manchester than Guns N' Roses were in Hammersmith

Sirens - Start (for example) the bottom of your range and slowly and as smoothly as possible go all the way up to the top of your range and back down again. Do these a few times as smoothly as you can and as slow as you can so you have full control over your voice. You know you are doing them right because they will sound like a siren! Amazing. Yeah, do those and do breathing warm ups aswell, or simply do some scales on a piano or get your guitarist 2 run over some scales, moving up an octave each time until you cant go any further

IMO - Crue created the 80's scene, Gn'R ended it. Say what you like but thats the way it was. Name one "hard rock" band after Gn'R that went on to make it really big? No one, the next biggest thing was Seattle and Nirvana

well, i haven't been serious about playing in probably 10 years.. and even back then I wasn't like really serious. I want to get back into it and get a guitar, Finck totally inspired me to pick one up. And I wanted to get the same tone he gets.

As for Fincks tone. Yeah, i like it. It's pretty raw but has a modern twist to it. I'm pretty sure he uses a Marshall JPM-1 and a Mesa Boogie head. Check out the band members gear on HTGTH website. I think the Les Pauls just have Humbuckers in them. You should e-mail him and ask him. But don't be all like "oh i love your tone! i want it what do you use!" just be like "hey man, just wondering what ur set up is on stage, sounds amazing" im sure you'll get a better reply!

Sure you can say gnr made better tunes, but Motley crue were the package. I mean motley crue have influenced me more in terms of how i act and how i play. And whats great is, they've gone through so much things, hit rock bottom, they have degraded themselves, and women all around the world, they have abused everything and everyone; and now there still here to share with us their wisdom, which to me is priceless. I mean Axl isn't the most inspiring when it comes to leading by example, he is a great singer, a great song writer, a great frontman, but he is still a dick. And so is vince.

Yeah man thats spot on stuff. Gn'R might have been the better band musically but Crue wins hands down in terms of bad boy behavior

you seem to be implying that after '85 that Motley started following instead of leading. is that correct? if that's what you're saying, you're dead wrong and you didn't grow up in the '80's and see it unfold. around '85 is when all the Motley copycat bands started putting out records. so if it seemed like Motley was doing what everyone else was doing it's because everyone else was copying them. even Kiss, one of Motley's influences, was following the Crue stride for stride. Crue went glam, everyone else went glam. Crue went to a boogie metal style and a biker look on Girls, Girls, Girls, and everyone ditched their pink spandex and traded it in for leather pants. i've always said that the watered down copycats always tarnish the original. it's obviously true.

Motley Crue were the real bad boys not Gn'R. All Gn'R did was get drunk, wasted, drugged up and have fights. Crue went into satan crap and all that. Vince was like the crap Huge Heffner for a while, Nikki died twice then shot up again the next day. Motley Crue were 1st so i guess they can't be compared too much to Gn'R 'cos Crue showed Gn'R how it's done. But as far as bad boy rockers go. Nikki Sixx wins hands down! He was shooting up at Tommy's wedding!
