  1. Hip hop bores me to death. There is virtually no melodie, you can't understand what they are saying,... I don't like that kind of music. I like rock because I like the sound of guitars, bass, drums and keyboards, while the vocalist sings with everyday words and not with that ghetto slang impossible to understand.

Eminem may write well, but if the lyrics don't go well with the music, I don't like it, because music is a combined effort. I just don't like the sound of hip hop.

ur entitled to not like it. n music isnt dependent on melody, melody is almost a sedative, i've always thought that the best most challenging music is atonal, kinda like some of the sounds the velvet underground made, or public image limited or theoretical girls, and maybe u should change the sentence to "i can't understand what they're sayin" cuz i *as in me* and 99% of people i know understand it perfectly. n that "ghetto slang" u refer to is no longer ghetto slang, it is considered the patois of the day, it is no longer this exclusive thing, a LOTTA people speak like that, catch up dude. that is todays mainstream, thats how MOST people speak now where im at, i dunno where ur from but...there it is. n maybe, jus maybe the lyrics dont go well with the music because you dont get it. dont treat it like its a shortcoming in the music, it's a shortcoming in you that u dont understand it, ur ears/mind whatever r missing THAT part that others have that u dont that can make u appreciate that hip hop shit, thats how i see it. jus like it's a shortcoming in me that i can't stand Julie Andrews movies y'know, i dont have it in me. and element is simply not there. ur entitled to NOT like somethin dont get me wrong n i totally respect that u think hip hop is a piece of shit n i jus wrote this really with no motivation other than to present u with another possible slant on things, maybe relevant, maybe not but thats up to u to decide.

I don't speak in ghetto slang and the people I relate to don't speak like that. Maybe Portugal is a retarded country, but I'm fine with it.

I do understand what they are saying. It's just that I can't understand properly their accent and the speed at which they pronounce the words.

I sure have no taste for hip hop. Or wait, maybe I do. Or maybe I did. It's just that I grew up and I don't like it anymore. For me, it was some kind of a trend, that just away quick.

I also understand other people may like it. It's music. And a matter of taste. But I don't consider it good music myself.

Maybe it has to do with me wanting to part ways with a lot of the teenagers nowadays. I'm a teen myself, but I don't identify myself with most of the new trends and thoughts. Maybe I'm just a geek who wants to feel different. Whatever it is, I reckon I need to feel different to feel good. And I'm not alone.

  3. Are they the ones that did that dreadful "Bittersweet Symphony?"

stick to listening to van halen you shit cunt.

    Van Halen's great.

Keane are on their way to suck just as much as U2. Actually, they are worse, because U2 have one good album ("The Joshua Tree"). Keane have none.

  4. Gn'r4life: Wait, you're way, way off.

Did you just say that The Killers were gay?

Dude, their influences are The Cure, Oasis, The Smiths, New Order, and "Somebody Told Me" is one of the most kickass single of the last 3 years. Nothing is gay or bad about their influences, or them for that matter.

    exactly...

sorry but the killers are extremely good and so are all of their influences...except t' smiths

Marky ur a little fucker so fuck off. The Killers SUCK end of discussion. And who the fuck cares if they list the crue as an influence? They sound nothing like Motley.

It's The Cure, not Motley Crue.

  5. All the nagging here!! You guys are childish as hell!

From 1994 till 2002 there was nothing for the fans, and since 2002 we have Velvet Revolver (proved to be succesfull, look at their sellingnumbers of contraband) and since this year there are signs of life in GnR.

What the fuck are you complaining. Two great rockbands instead of nothing.

a little more optimism would be in it's place

Slash's Snakepit, Izzy Stradlin & The JuJu Hounds, Gilby, Neurotic Outsiders,...

    Should I name more?

Nothing that can touch the quality of VR and GnR.

    You can't be serious, i hope... :o

Izzy's solo stuff blows away everything VR has put out and GN'R has recorded since 1994.

I agree with the VR part. -

Have you actually heard his albums? For example, "Like A Dog" has some of the best rockers made in quite some time. "Bomb", "Snafu", "Hammerhead", "Chop Away", "Win U Lose", "On The Run", all those songs are true rockers. Then you have his more melodic albums, like the debut one, with songs like "Shuffle It All" or "Take A Look At The Guy", etc... Those are my two favourite albums of his, but the other ones are also very good.

LOL! Yeah I was a first day buyer for the first Ju Ju Hounds. I love the stuff, it's just that I don't think it's better than the new Gun's I've heard. It's just personal taste.

Ok, ok. It is indeed personal taste. I prefer Izzy's style, you prefer Guns, that's fair enough.

  8. in 2002 there was no IRS!

it was just silkworms and other shit like beduins.

IRS is a creation and full mix of 2004/2005 production

There is a demo that dates back from 1999... Or so it claims.

  9. Your Result: Honkin' On Bobo

You're an extremely laid back person. You're usually calm and cool in any situation. Of course, like everyone, you've got your wild side, but for the part you like to keep it soulful. You're definitly a fan of anything classic, and sometimes you can be a little nostalgic. Sometimes people don't know what to expect from you, but you never disappoint.

  10. i see richard's a good mac user :D

Probably took him so long because his computer was broken. :rofl-lol:

why would his mac be broken? given that the quality, security and design of the mac beats the piss out of any pc

    that's funny.

    It's not funny. It's true.

  11. The Stones influence is inescapable really, but I don't buy it the way I used to. I love The Rolling Stones, but I don't care for Guns N' Roses nearly as much as I used to. I think they are much closer to Aerosmith or even Led Zeppelin in some instances. Izzy definitely got the Stones vibe down, but it only really showed on his songs, it didn't affect the band's sound so much.

I agree. Dust N' Bones is the GN'R song that sounds the most Stonesish (argh... that word doesn't exist, but the hell with it) and few others have that sound. But when you hear his solo records, they sound a lot closer to the Stones.

  12. If they reunited or started touring which bands would oyu pay that much to go see.

Guns N' Roses Reunion- Matt, Dizzy, Izzy, Slash, Axl, and Duff

Pink Floyd Reunion- David, Nick, Richard, and with or without Roger

    Queen + Paul Rodgers

    AC/DC

Led Zeppelin Reunion- Robert, Jimmy, John Paul Jones

    Rolling Stones

    your list minus queen

Agreed. Queen without Mercury isn't Queen. Let the music alone.
